New Castle, Indiana

Elder Adam Millet

6 Monthes in Paradise

Well I found out on Saturday I am leaving New Castle Indiana and I am heading to Lakeside Park Kentucky! I will be a Tri-state Missionary! (What an accomplishment ;) My companion is Elder Heaton who came out with me! I am stoked!

When I found out that I was leaving I reflected back on the first day in New Castle. Elder Cutler gave me this thing with two wheels and a metal frame (a bike) I looked at the iron horse and then at Elder Cutler, then I judged him hard-core. I thought, "There is no way this dorky kid can ride a bike, he can barely walk." (I later told him about that) As we started riding that day I realized this man was a beast on a bike! He was at least 20 yards ahead of me all day. That day, as well as almost everyday that transfer, we rode bikes or walked for almost 10 hours a day. We were lucky to have a lesson a week! As we started to talk to everyone and show our effort and faith God began to bless us. Now this transfer, there were times when we had so much to do that we had to skip lunch or dinner.

I have grown a deep love for all the Hoosiers here in New Castle! I see people who are down and feel like there is no hope in life, I talk to people who tell me they are way to lost to be helped, I sense a great depression in almost everyone
I see, I watch people wander around aimlessly in life, and I testify to them that I know the message we share is true and will bless their lives. Then I am rejected, but I don't give up I smile at them and try to brighten their day just a little bit. As I have done this I have seen happiness radiate from me and I notice the impact it makes on other peoples lives. Even though everything around me seems gloomy and sad, I am far from those feelings. All I feel is happiness and hope! The reason I feel this, is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ it brings so much hope and happiness to my life. As I testify to others I feel the Holy Ghost left me up a little bit (Maybe just enough to make me 2 inches taller) I am grateful for my time here in New Castle!

This week we had an amazing lesson with Sherri Maple! She is a country singer and has a very bubbly personality! For some reason she thinks I am amazing at the guitar, so she keeps asking me to teach her. (I keep telling her she is getting me mixed up with my buddy Elder Loveridge)

Anyways we have been trying to get her to come to church but she keeps going to other churches to listen to their music! :( So Elder Millett and I made a plan to teach the restoration and focus on this church being to only true church! We brought a member along with us and right at the beginning of the lesson I had a prompting to invite the member to share why he knows that God loves him! He shared a story that brought everyone to tears! That set the tone for the rest of the meeting! Elder Millett shared the first vision and she started to cry again! I then asked Sherri what she was feeling. She told us she felt good and that God was telling her this was true. We then extended baptism for April 28th, and she accepted! She also came to church this week and come to find out she knows like everyone in the branch!!

I know this is God's work. I am just a small tool that He uses. I know there is no coincidences. I know there is someone or something I need to do in Lakeside Park and I am excited to find out what it is!

Love y'all!

Elder Johnson
