Hello friends and family, hope you all are alive and well! Thanks again for the bday wishes, it was a great day! Pretty slow week to start, but it ended awesome. I'll explain,
Last Monday was Transfers! Pretty exciting! It's a chance to see missionaries you haven't seen in a while and meet new faces. Our district leader Elder Adams left for Marshall, MI so we got a new district leader Elder Thompson. He's a stud, he is from Gilbert AZ (that's what I'm talkin' about) and he went to Basha High (poor guy, haha). He is pretty energetic and social, so he'll be good.
Tuesday we were able to do service again for KCS (Kent Community Services) and do some finding. It's been pretty cloudy and rainy (just about all week too). We then had dinner at the church and ward coordination and Book of Mormon class. Still working on getting people there, we have one attendee.
Wednesday We were supposed to have a lesson with our investigator Nasa, but she shined us. We were pretty distraught, but we got to talk to her that night when we came for her neighbor and saw her outside. So we rescheduled for the next day. Her neighbor by the way did not answer and so they are both pretty flaky. We were able to do a lot more finding and talk to a lot of people.
Thursday was our walk day. We finished up weekly planning and then went to Nasa's, but she shined us again. Then we went and walked around Downtown and talked to people and knocked a little, so that was good.
Friday We went with our bishop to discuss the ward and how we can help the members. He gave us members in our area to focus on, and some ideas to help us, so we will be implementing that. We then contacted some less actives and did some finding. We had a lesson with Ian, and we taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and discussed his plans and sincerity. We told him that we what we teach requires action and change in his life, so he committed to read the book of Mormon and pray about it every day! So we pray for him as well that he will receive a witness that what we have been sharing is true.
Saturday was Awesome! Earlier in the week we talked to our zone leaders and requested a "blitz" in or our area because our area is struggling a bit. So they came down and I went with Elder Johnson and Elder Burton went with Elder Smith, and we went and worked all day! We did a little service for Nasa and were able to talk to her Ex-husband who was there and we gave him a book of Mormon and Restoration pamphlet to read, so hope fully we will hear from him soon! We then went finding and Elder Johnson was able to help me out a ton! I learned a lot from him and all together we had 7-8 people to contact in one day! That's pretty good for Rockford, so the blitz was definitely a help! We are excited to begin a new week with some new found motivation!
