Moving Out, Moving In, and a Baptismal Date for Anton!

The first part of the week was spent loading up our old apartment (no easy task, seeing as it had about 3 years of built up stuff left behind by people who needed to cut weight on their bags) and getting moved into our new apartment. This new one is a bit bigger, considerably closer to the church, and about 2/3 the price of the old one! So definitely worth the move, but it's still a headache and the time spent moving means time not spent doing any volunteer work. But we got all finished by Wednesday and had a great last half of the week! The highlight was definitely being able to have a lesson with Anton on Friday and on Saturday, culminating in him agreeing to be baptized on the 26th of August! He has such a sincere desire to learn and asks such great questions, he truly is golden. We had a lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is always incredible because of the focus on repentance, and then spent a lesson answering questions that he had after reading about the Tree of Life in 1 Nephi 8. Thank goodness for 1 Nephi 11, it did almost all the work for us. We then watched the restoration video, and challenged him to be baptized! We asked him if we could choose a date that he would be baptized on, and he said "well, I'll need a little while to finish reading the Book of Mormon, but I think I can get done by the 23rd of August. Can I get baptized then?" We were blown away, since we were planning on challenging him to be baptized on the 26th of August, the nearest Saturday to that week. We told him that baptisms usually occur on Saturdays, and he happily agreed to prepare himself for the 26th. We're meeting with him today to talk about the Word of Wisdom, which should go well. We gave him a basic run-down of what the WoW entails on Saturday, and he seemed to agree with everything he heard. Right now starts the hardest time for him, as he prepares to enter the waters of baptism, so keep him in your prayers! In other news, we're heading up to Irkutsk tonight to do ZL exchanges for the next couple of days! We're looking forward to that, should be a ton of fun and a good opportunity to work with the other Elders in our zone. Thanks for all the support! Love you all!

Here are some pictures of Ulan-Ude, I realized I haven't shown very much of the city yet:
