The Best Baptism is a Surprise Baptism!!

Zahar has decided to be baptized!! It was a huge surprise. Our branch president and President Baldikov, who is in the mission presidency, sat down with him and his father in between the 2nd and 3rd hours of church and they had a talk about baptism. He came out and surprised us all with the news that he is going to be getting baptized on the 20th of June!! That's right, literally tomorrow. We were all ecstatic!! Incredible what truly strong members can do when they get involved so directly in missionary work. So we're all rushing now to get everything ready for the baptism tomorrow, but we're all in high spirits! His sister will almost definitely be getting baptized soon, and after that our job is just to make sure the dominos keep tipping and that they all get baptized! It's been incredible to see how the spirit has worked on them and I'm just incredibly lucky to be here as the 5 years of combined missionary efforts with this family are finally paying off. I love my mission!!

Craziness!! Truly a huge miracle. The members here are just incredible. I love them so much!!!
Another miracle: One of our most promising investigators, a guy our age named Vadim, just left for America for 3 months. He's going to be in the New York area. Get this; one of the elders who was reassigned to serve in the US for his final two transfers from our mission is serving there right now! His name is Elder Voigt, and he was good friends with Vadim while he served here in Ulan-Ude. It truly is a miracle. It's incredible to see just how far in advance the Lord has everything planned.
We've had some really fun activities these last couple weeks that have been really great for getting our friends and investigators building relationships with the members. I feel that, especially here, that is an incredibly important part of the conversion process, making sure that new converts have a solid base of support from the members in the branch.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I'm just going to attach as many as I can fit on here. The big group picture is all of us after some lazer tagging (Zahar is one the very far left with the pistol, Vadim is the one right underneath him with the blue shirt), the three dough balls are a food called Buusa that is INSANELY popular here and way good, and the black and white pictures are from our weeklong black and white photoshoot that has been going on in our apartment. If you can't tell, Elder Creer isn't a huge fan of pictures. But we snuck one :)
Love you all!! Have a great week!!
Elder Lawrence
