Another Great Week on the Island!

Nothing much new going on out here; Rustam and Sergei are still progressing (albeit not as quickly as we'd like, but they're reading and they both still have good questions every lesson, which is important). Some really good news is that a woman who used to be an investigator but left after getting offended has started coming back to church! Her name is Mariana, she's about 25 years old and she's incredibly talented musically. She plays the violin in an orchestra, and we went to one of her concerts to support her with the sisters. She really appreciated that, and she came to church this sunday! The sisters met with her this last week, and we're all going on a hike together sometime this week. After church we stayed and she played the piano while we sang hymns, it was awesome! We're really hopeful about her, she was really close to baptism before she left and we've got some great sisters here who I'm confident can get her back to that point. Keep her in your prayers!

Elder Staiger and I are getting along great! He's super fun, there's never a dull moment with him. He's got a great handle on Russian and he's a good teacher, I think we're gonna get a lot done in our transfers together.
President Perkinson and his wife came out to Sakhalin this weekend! It was great to see them again. I think a baptism is the only thing missionaries here look forward to more than an interview with President Perkinson. He just has a way of being friends with everyone and making you feel great. It's always an awesome boost of spirits when he comes out!

The branch here is doing great! They're so solid, every single one of them is a huge example to me. I wish I could introduce each of them personally to you all, but there's a lot of them :) I'm going to try and get better about taking pictures with them, and then every week I'll try and send a picture of some of them and give you their story. I love this branch!

Thanks for all the love and support! I love you all!

Elder Lawrence
