Cabeça Carreira

Elder Andrew Todeschini

Boa tarde yall sorry I didnt get to write an email last week Im just really bad at organizing my time while i'm at the cyber. The past two weeks we've been working hard and walking a lot trying to invite others to come unto Christ! Every day I get more tired and staying awake during studies gets harder but my love for the Lord and His works increases daily too so im still able to function. The past 2 weeks we're very interesting so I'll touch on a few fun things that happened. Last week we went on a division in Pedra Badejo to do a baptismal interview. We visited a member and she kept trying to make fun of Elder Fillmore's accent (even though he has a good accent) but she was basically talking in a thick southern accent and it brought back to my roots, I love being from Dixie. That night we watched a JW movie about Christ's life which is in Criole. I cant explain how funny it is listening to Christ preaching in Criole. On the way back from the division we were riding on the back of a pickup truck and a guy waves the truck down and hops in, with a burlap sack in his hand. After we started moving the sack starts moving too... pig transportation here is even rougher that ours. Last pday we went to tarrafal to play volleyball for a zone activity. We went on the back of a truck again (all the trucks have cages over them). The truck filled up and then one stop a guy just hopped on the back and held on to the rail. We're going at least 40-50 mph through mountain roads and this man is just chillin on the back man these people be wildin. I had a blast playing volleyball although I didnt enjoy some of the sights of European tourists on the beach... To finish off the worldly stories from these past weeks we found some water bottles that have "aromatized water." I was really hoping it was something similar to flavored water but nevertheless I was deceived. It legit tasted like I was drinking water mixed with perfume, not gonna do that again.
This week I read Ether 12 in personal study which says "I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." My weaknesses have never been as noticeable as they've been here on the mission. Learning a new language is not something Im naturally gifted at and neither is talking to people I dont know, but Im learning to trust in His grace, in His power. I know that Christ not only payed the price for our sins but He took upon himself our infirmities, "that his bowels may be filled with mercy." Words can't explain how thankful I am for Jesus Christ and His Atonement.
Amo vocês!
Elder Bennett
