This week we didnt really have a lot of normal days. Tuesday pretty much everyone we wanted to talk to was at Carnaval in Assomada so we did a ton of contacts and tried to find as many people at home as we could. Wednesday there was a catholic holiday where everyone fasts for breakfast then they eat fish and rice and finish with cuscuz with honey, so every house we went to offered us food. Cuscuz is kind of like cornbread but with less flavor, and I like it as long as it doesnt have a ton of milk, bc then the texture doesnt mix well with my gag reflex. So on Wednesday we had cuscuz with a member, and I made sure not to put a ton of milk on it so Id be able to get it all down, but then the member came over and filled the plate with cuscuz. She did the same with my comp and we both spent about 20 minutes struggling to not let this stuff come back up.
Then on Saturday we decide to explore a part of our area that I'd never been to. So we ate lunch, hopped on the back of a pick-up truck, and went as far as it would take us. In that area we did a lot of contacts and taught a lesson, which ended up getting interrupted by an Adventist. This dude came in the room in the middle of the lesson, so obviously we invited him to sit with us. He has a ton of questions, which is always welcome, but in the end he just wanted to argue about whether the Sabbath day is on Saturday or Sunday. We were trying to point him back to reading the Book of Mormon to grow closer to Christ, but it seemed like he cared more about following his beliefs more than following Christ. In the end I shared 2 Nephi 33: 10 which says "if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ." My invite to yall is the same one I left this guy, if you haven't read the Book of Mormon yet and have even a small desire to follow Christ, just read the book. I promise you will grow closer to Him and grow more faith in Him, which all of us need.
