Every week my love for the Lord and for this work grows in spite of the disappointments that invariably come. Life is full of opposition so I'm just trying to get used to it and focus more on the endless hope that comes in Christ.
This week we found a guy that seems like he has a ton of potential. At first he told us he's been to the catholic church every week since he was 7 and didnt want to change. We convinced him to let us teach him about the restoration of Christ's church. He let us teach and he loves it. He said he'd always had doubts about how the Catholic church baptizes and a couple other things, and as we talked he got answers to his doubts. We taught him a couple more times this week, but then he didn't go to church... It was an adventure finding his house because he lives in the very bottom of a valley so I felt like I was back in boy scouts hiking to his house. To get to his house we go from where we were in the 1st picture to the purple trees in the background, then in the 2nd pic we go from the trees in the top right to the house at the center of the picture. Also to get there we passed a house and in front of the house they have a monkey tied to a tree. well the first time we passed we didnt see it and it jumped at my comp and bit his leg (didnt break any skin so he's all good).
Elder Todeschini decided to stop boiling water every day to take a shower and start using the cold water. Im proud of the man but its pretty funny bc ill be eating my cereal and it sounds like he's on a roller coaster with all the sound effects. Hey you gotta do what you gotta do
This week I studied 3 Nephi 27:19-20 where Christ says "19 And no unclean thing can enter into [God's] kingdom; therefore nothing entereth into his rest save it be those who have washed their garments in my blood, because of their faith, and the repentance of all their sins, and their faithfulness unto the end.
20 Now this is the commandment: Repent, all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day." The things that I focused on is that nothing we do earns this, it's all through the grace of Christ, which was made possible through His atonement. I would not be giving up 2 years of my life for any reason other than following Christ, but I know nothing I do will ever be able to repay Him.
Have a good week!
