Week 26: "let's brew some milk"

How's it going everyone? This week started off pretty good with us meeting a lot of interested people, then culminated in a very large, grand tree. Elder Todeschini brewed some milk which was a kind of interesting experience. Usually I just make powdered milk with cold water, but he wanted to heat it up so it wouldn't be as powdered. The milk ended up overflowing out of the pot and then we struggled a bit to use a homemade funnel to put the milk in bottles, but it was all worth it because I was able to have the satisfaction of pouring milk over my cereal instead of vice versa (I usually make the milk first so I can stir in the powder). Also I played a solo at church yesterday. I broke out the sheet music for "Be Still My Soul" and had a blast playing it again. I love the spirit music brings. Overall it was a good, busy week with a lot of appointments.
This week we had a pretty cool experience teaching a guy that was almost baptized but ended up not going through with it because he had doubts about whether or not Joseph Smith really was a prophet. First I asked him if he knows God is our Father and Christ is our Savior, then I asked how he knows. Of course his response was "its a feeling that confirms it." So then we read 2 Nephi 33: 10 which says "believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ." Then I told him this verse is either true or not, either this book contains the words of Christ and Joseph was a prophet, or Joseph was lying and a false prophet. So now our question changes from "was Joseph Smith a prophet?" to "Are the words in this book the words of Christ?" I invited him to read Mosiah 3, write everything we can learn about the Savior in this chapter, then pray to know if these are the words of Christ, and I want to invite all of yall to do the same. We did the same thing as a district this past week and I felt the spirit powerfully testify to me again that these are the words of Christ. I promise all of you that if you do that with a sincere heart, wanting to grow closer to Christ, you will receive the same witness.
Love yall!

2. pikachu (a stray dog that follows us around)
3. We had an appointment marked and the guy told his neighbors to tell us to wait so we made the best use of our time (Matthew 7:6 slipped my mind)
