Week 17: escalada de montanha

This week we decided to work more in our area that's up the mountain in Feijoal. The area has some good potential, but sometimes it's a struggle getting up there. Usually we take the road to get up there, but when we're going there from the church building we take a path and it's like we're scaling the face of a mountain (see picture below). The first time I took the path I had no clue how we were gonna make it up but somehow the paths winds itself up the mountain.
On Friday as I was washing the dishes I thought about a night where I helped a lady that had a dead battery start her car. I remembered how happy it made me being able to see the positive effect it had on her. Later I thought about how sometimes you can see the effect that acts of service have and obviously that makes you feel good, but a lot of the time you can't see the effect that your acts of service have. After that I had Mosiah 2:17 come to my mind: "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I realized that as we build our relationship with Christ, whether or we see the effect our service has, we can feel that same joy because we know that we're giving back to the God that has given us everything we have. I'm looking forward to putting this into practice more.
Have a good week yall!
