Provo MTC

Elder Ryan Meyer

MTC Week 4

Tudo bem y'all
This week has flown by. Tuesdays are always great and this one was even better than usual because we got to hear from Elder Bednar (one of the 12 apostles in our church). I could write a lot about that but I'll try to keep it short. He started off by sharing a story where he was doing something that made absolutely no sense to him but he just kept doing it and it ended up being an answer to his granddaughter's prayer. He related that to how sometimes we don't know exactly what we're doing and we just have to trust the Spirit to guide us, similar to how Nephi was led to get the plates in 1 Nephi 4:6. He also told us to " get out of the way; the mission isn't about you". As long as we're being diligent and not being routine as we teach the gospel of Jesus Christ we will be able to be guided by the Spirit. We also got to sing an arrangement of "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" in choir. It's so powerful when 900 missionaries testify that He lives.
This whole week the theme that's stood out to me was the importance of the Holy Ghost. Elder Bednar started it off and then in class we talked about the cleansing power of the Holy Ghost. We also talked about how God often uses the Spirit to answer prayers. On Tuesday as I was reading the powerful testimony in 2 Nephi 33 the Spirit again testified to me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Then yesterday Elder Meyer and I taught about recognizing the Spirit. I'm grateful for the Spirit in missionary work because without it we wouldn't be successful in bringing anyone to Christ.
I know that Jesus Christ is the savior of the world and that it is only through him that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. The gospel has blessed my life so much and I can't wait to share the blessings of the gospel with the people of Cape Verde.
Love you all!Elder Bennett
1&2: Last night was Sprite night so we all got sprites and put on fake mustaches.
