The MTC is an amazing place but at times it feels like we're living the same day over and over again. Every day we have around 6 or 7 hours of classes, an hour of exercise time, and usually around 3.5 hours of studying. It sounds weird but the studying is usually my favorite part. This past week I let language study take over most of the study time but I'm trying to be better about giving myself the personal study time that I need in English. I guess I forgot to talk about my district in my last email. There's 6 elders and 8 sisters. I'm so thankful for the sisters haha they're awesome.
My district decided that every night from 9:15-10 we would speak 100% Portuguese. A couple nights ago Elder Hopkins and Elder Brooksby were messing around and Elder Hopkins tried to call Elder Brooksby stupid, but he said "Eu sou stupido" which means I am stupid. I was worried we wouldn't be able to laugh as much as we were speaking Portuguese but we ended up laughing a lot.
This past week Elder Meyer and I taught a person that is interested in the church. We shared with her 2 Nephi 32:3 which says that the words of Christ will tell you all things that you should do. Since we were teaching in Portuguese we couldn't say everything we wanted to but we definitely felt the spirit. After the lesson, we found out that she had been praying about some decisions she had to make and the scripture answered her question word for word. This strengthened my testimony that I am the Lord's servant. I had no clue what this sister needed but the Lord did and he guided my companion and I to share that scripture to answer her prayers. I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that the words of Christ truly can tell us all things that we should do.
Hope you all have a good week!
