It’s been a really long week. It’s been a really interesting week for me as well. Kind of one of those emotional roller coaster weeks. My companion went to Cordoba this week to finish his paperwork for his visa, so I stayed with the zone leaders. I was with them when we got the news about Hna. Scadlock. The day before her passing the mission had organized a mission wide fast. Right after starting our fast with a prayer, the phone rang, and we heard the news. We were shocked. My stomach just dropped. We sat in almost complete silence for almost an hour. Then we read about the Saviors resurrection in the New Testament. My heart aches for her family. I can only imagine the shock and pain that they are facing. How blessed are we, however, to have the gospel and the reassurance of His resurrection and OUR resurrection. I continue to pray for them in ALL of my prayers.

Regarding Hna. Scadlock -- when we got the call it really hit me hard. I was really affected by it. I cried. I just really felt for her family. I really admire her, and the ultimate sacrifice that she ultimately made for this work
This is what Pres. Franco sent to the mission this past week:
"Dear Missionaries (Elders & Sisters)
During these last several days all of us in the mission have been praying and fasting for the physical welfare of Hermana Brittany Scadlock. She has been fighting a severe intestinal infection.
In Matthew 11:28-29, our Savior said: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
Without a doubt our Father in Heaven and our Savior saw that we were going to need them in moments like this. Our hearts are very heavy to tell you that Sister Scadlock passed away Wednesday night. She fought against a very aggressive sickness (infection) and the sickness conquered her. But what we see and know also is that death is conquered by the atonement and resurrection of Christ.
He lives, and because he lives Hermana Scadlock and all of us are going to live again and we shall see her once more.
Sister Franco and I love you very much and are very grateful to all of you for what you do to build the kingdom of God in this part of Argentina. Thank you all; many thanks Hermana Scadlock for everything. Without a doubt she continues working on the other side of the veil.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely and with eternal love,
President and Sister Franco"
