HOLA MAMA!
So yup. This past week makes 1 month for me here in Argentina! The time does fly! Part of me feels like I have been here for a lot longer, and another part of me feels like I just got here last week! I realize that I really am adjusting to the culture and everything here. I am getting better at understanding the people, and I am getting a little better at speaking....slowly but surely.
So yeah, our branch is quite small. Really, there are just about 30 or so really active members...and most of them are from one family. Haha. But I love our branch. We have some amazing members with some really strong testimonies. Some of the youth is really amazing too. It's just neat to see that the church is the same everywhere!
Yeah, like I said last week, I REALLY miss the temple. Elder Brough and I have talked about it a couple times - about how exciting it will be to go to the Buenos Aires temple when we leave! Can't wait!
So you signed up for that conference!!! Sweet! When is it? You will have to tell me ALL about it! I really wanna hear!
So yeah, this weekened I haven't been feeling too hot. Saturday evening I didnt feel too great - just tired, headache, and these sores on my neck. Sunday we actually came back from church early and I just slept for a while because I was feeling kinda feverish and had some naseau...(how do you spell that?)...Anyways, feeling okay right now. These infections just have been making me feel sick...dont like it at all.
Anywhos....Our Investigators:
Lucrecia- So we didnt have her baptism this week... Not exactly sure what is going to happen with her now actually. We had a lesson with her earlier this week about the Law of Chastity. It was after this lesson that we found out that she is only juntada (or in other words...she isnt married to her spouse). Lots of people here do that, but we were positive that she was....anyways that was a surprise. Now we are going to try to talk to them both, and she is going to talk to him to about marriage, although she didnt necessarily understand....She told us that she had always thought that marriage is nothing more than a piece of paper really....We're working on that.
Dana - We havent been able to meet with her yet since our first visit...shes been traveling. But we did go by for a minute before she left down and her mother was there and she said, "these are the missionaries i was telling you about" to her mom...so hopefully thats a good sign. We are excited for her to get back so we can teach her some more!
You keep asking about Andres. I keep forgetting to write about him, but just because we havent been able to find him since that first lesson....who knows
NIcholas y Paula - They are still awesome. We have talked to them briefly outside once or twice at night...but they never have time. They are always working, so its really hard to find them at home!
This week we found the Familia Gantero. They seem pretty cool. We clapped their house and the lady came out and said, "pasen!"...or " come in"...We didnt even say anything. So that was really cool. We taught them the restoration, and they all said that theyd pray about it. There's like 4 or 5 adults and some kids...I think they are all brothers and sisters or something....not really sure..but hopefully we will be able to keep teaching them
Haha, funny story. We accidently went to La Loma this week...and we talked to this one guy and he said that I sounded more native that Elder Brough!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I really dont know what hes talking about. =)
Oh we had a Talent Show this week! For all the branches and wards in our Zone. It was pretty funny. It reminded me of the talent show in the movie Baptists at our Barbeque....I will have to send you some pics sometime....
Yes mommy, I am trying to eat healthier. I bought some carrots today! But it really really is so hard to find good produce...Most of the stuff in the grocery store here would be the first stuff to be thrown out in the US....Oh well...I will keep trying...
Anyway... I love you so so so so so so much! I hope you have a fantabulous week! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! The gospel is so true! Live it! Love it!
Love your favorite Elder,
Elder C.
P.S. I wanna here more about this guy you keep going out with. I WANT PICS!!!
