MOMMA!
Wow. This has been one of the busiest weeks of my life. We had so much happen this week, it feels like it has been a couple weeks since I have written home last.
First....BAUTISMO!!!! Miracles truly happened this week. Saturday we had my first and second baptism! Bruno AND his friend Gustavo both got baptized! So awesome. This week we were able to answer some of their questions, resolve some of their doubts, AND we got the permision from their parents! Their main issue, we found, was that they want to become pro futbol players. They didnt want to join the church and then leave it later. Which is a good thing that they realized the importance of these covenants. But we were able to explain that they can do both, and that there are lots of mormon athletes! So they liked that! And now they are members!!!!! Such a great experience!
Wednesday, YOUR BIRTHDAY, we did service again. One of the most memorable moments I have had yet. It was pouring all night and all morning when we went. We went out to this little house out in the campo (country...or edge fo the city) and helped them build a pig pen. Then after we had to go look for it! So we are soaking wet, muddy, and looking in the fields for a pig. But what made it great was that some random borracho (a drunk dude) came and started talking to us and started helping us search for it. He was screaming and singing and "speaking in tongues"...and then he got on all fours and started shouting profanities and crawling through bushes to find this pig. One of the funniest moments ever!
Also this week we moved to our new pension! it is really really nice! almost brand new and super clean. pretty small, but just right for two elders. I am pretty sure that I am getting transferred this next cycle, so I probably wont be here long, but I am enjoyng it while I can!
Yesterday, as you know, we had that multi zone conference in Saenz Peña. We had to leave at like 3 in the morning to drive and didn't get back until about 12 at night, but it was lots of fun and we learned a lot! By the way, I finally got that pic with President Heyman and Elder Brough and Hermana Heyman!
While on divisiones with the zone leaders this week I had a girl tell me, "I love you" in the street....that was weird.
Oh, on monday we had a dinner with Lucrecia and her family! That was awesome! They made us really good empanadas! Yummmm!!! I will send you a pic!
Well thats about it....in a reader's digest version...I wish I had more time to write it all! I love you so so so much! I am so glad that card and the memory cards made it to you. I was worried about it!
I am still loving what I am doing! Yes, it is very difficult at times, but HEY, that's missionary work. I am learning so much about the language, the gospel, the culture, and myself. I am so grateful for this experience to be here. I realized this week that I have truly learned to love it here. I realized that when the time comes for me to leave, it'll be hard. I love this work. That baptism was just so cool. That was such a great motivation for me to get more! I am so grateful for this gospel and for my Savior. I am grateful to have a calling, to be called, as His representative. in the words of Elder McConkie, "How great is my calling!"
The church is true. It is the church of Jesus Christ. He lives. Through him all things are possible
I love you so much!
Love,
Elder C
