Ethan Scott - mission week 18

Buenas tardes!

This week has been really eventful with all sorts of things happening. This was my last week with my awesome dad-companion Elder Mullen. He is going to go home tomorrow and I am a little sad because I have been comps with him for the last 12 weeks and he has helped me so much! But, my new companion is Elder Wiscomb and he is awesome. He is from Rancho Bernardo in San Diego! I am super excited to serve and work with him. I can tell he is a great guy and this is going to be a great transfer.

This week we had the opportunity to go to a town called Pueblo Nuevo and this town is beautiful. It has a giant river running through it and the whole town is pretty much a banana farm. Everyone in this town uses donkeys as transportation on their dirt roads. It was way cool. Anyways there we participated in two baptismal services in the river. It was so neat seeing people getting baptized in the river. It reminded me of Alma when he baptized many people in the river and the joy of baptism. The experience I had in this little pueblo was an experience I will never forget. I realized the immense joy I can feel as I bring others unto Christ and into the waters of baptism.

I am so happy to be here and feel so honored to teach these wonderful people here in Peru. I cannot describe the joy I am feeling out here.  It is a feeling I could never replace. I know this church is true, I know it with all my heart, and I love you all so much!  This week was amazing! Thank you for all the emails and letters. I appreciate each and every one of them!

I love you all!

Elder Scott
