Kia Ora!
I've found out, when an islander feeds you.... they'll feed you heaps! One of our former investigators, Ape, took Elder Watts and I out to lunch. We sat down and he said that he would order the food...20 minutes later a the food comes out, I thought they had the wrong table at first because the amount of food they brought out. It looked like it could feed a family of six! I ate what I thought I could then I was given more, then more, and more. I was so full i didn't eat dinner or breakfast that next morning.
We met a man named Alfa who has become last active in the church. We talked to him and found out that his wife passed away a couple month ago and he wasn't sure what he should do with his life now. We continued talking and we asked him if he would like a blessing to help him though this time. He said he would like that and he asked me to give him the blessing. I was thrown off guard because I had never given a blessing in my life, but i know the Holy Ghost helped me out in that situation. The words that he needed to hear came to my mouth and afterward he thanked us and wanted us to come back.
Towards the end of the week, we met with another less active member of the church that had a partner who wasn't a member. We got to know Ben and Tia and shared with them the restoration of the gospel. Even though I grew up learning that message heaps, it sounded different this time. I know it was because the Holy Ghost was testifying that the message we were sharing was true. We gave them a Book of Mormon and they invited us to come back.
Pday! we when to the beach for our Pday and it was cool as! The day was full of beach volleyball, rugby, and really good food that the islander Elders made for us. The beach we ended up going to was a mean as surf break so I watched a lot of surfers catch waves and paddle back out. It made me want to paddle out but I can do that again in two years hahaha!
