Family and Friends

Dear family and friends,

I'd like to start out thanking those who wrote me letters of encouragement this past month. I got them this week in the Christmas zone conference of the mission. This week was long, very full, and pretty hard. I read the messages on a day where I was feeling pretty discouraged in the morning and they helped me feel confidence and peace. In this holiday season, never underestimate the power of a kind word for a friend or even someone you don't know well. You never know who is really needing it. Sometimes people appear 100 percent ok but are really needing you to love them. Its awesome how the holidays give us even more opportunities to reach out in love like the Savior.

My week: It started with the trip back to Maringá for zone conference. Once again I left conference feeling like the focus had been inspired. I am grateful that Heavenly Father inspires our leaders. The conference had two main focuses: planning and obedience. I also got to sing O Holy Night in the Christmas program, and I think that I did a good job. It was gratifying to sing once again after a long time. I don't even sing in sacrament meeting these days because I am always playing the piano. Speaking of singing I was asked to give a brief spiritual message for the ward activity on Thursday night. I felt like I should talk about the Book of Mormon and be creative. I had memorized the lyrics for "an angel from on High" in Portuguese. And so I sang! I bore testimony of the Book of Mormon and its role in the gathering of Israel for the last time. The quality of the performance was not awesome because I had been walking around all day with a dry throat but, it was great! It really is my favorite book.

We worked hard this week and found some great families. I didn't take a picture with them, but we had two awesome young men come to Sacrament meeting: Jean Carlos and Bruno. They are brothers and we had an awesome time getting to know them and teaching them the restoration. They both want to live in the United States and so we had a good time talking about all the differences between our countries too. Everyone pray for them that they will read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true.

I love you all so much. I think of all of you that have been so good to me and been my examples over the years. Stay strong! Read the Book of Mormon every day with faith and your testimony of Jesus Christ will just get stronger and stronger!! Please if you feel so inclined send me emails! I will love to get back in touch!! See yall,

-Elder Wells
