So changes came in this week, and it turns out that I am now going to be Senior Companion with a newer missionary coming from the North! I am pretty excited to set the example! It is going to be a little different when I have to be a lot more responsible, but I think that it will be a good experience. This Wednesday, I had to go take out my Uruguay ID! I am now a true Uruguayan!! We then witnessed a baptism later that day from a branch in our zone!
This week was pretty hard, because we were walking around all day everyday looking for someone that was willing to listen to the word of god. It is crazy and really sad actually to see people reject a clear, true message, but I was reading in Preach My Gospel, and it says that those people have their agency, and our job is to use our agency correctly so that we can help others do the same. This week we ended up finding 5 new investigators! It was a lot! We only count investigators if they will actually progress because there are some people that count any person that they pray with as an investigator to look good on the papers... haha! This one lady was asking us why bad things happen in the world. It is a common question that we get. There are two reasons. We all have our agency, and people use their agency poorly, and for that, bad things happen to good people. The other reason is found in Alma 60:13. It says that God allows the righteous to be slain because they will rest in heaven with him. When we said these two things, she let us set another date to come back! We came back and showed her the video of the Restoration. I have never seen someone pay so much attention! She REJECTED a phone call to watch it! She understood perfectly and was telling us that she was looking for the correct church. This made me really happy to see the spirit fill the room and people. I then had the impression to give her a baptismal date! We gave her a date and she and her daughter are set up to be baptized in about 3 weeks if everything falls right!! I love the feeling of the spirit. It is what really helps me enjoy the mission and life.
I love you all so much! Thank you all for everything, and I will be talking to you all next week! Take care!!!
