The highlight of thus week was that I got to see my trainer Elder king or I guess his name is Tyler now haha. I love and missed that guy. He's got a beard now which is weird haha.
This week was pretty good but not crazy eventful. Just stressing out about zone conference tomorrow. It's the first one I've planned!
Taught a dude named Sheriff this week. He's from Liberia. It was a good lesson but nothing super special. He lives in an apartment with like 10 other Africans though and they were like singing African music really loud and running through the apartment in their underwear. I wanted to join haha.
Here's a little incite on German culture and why I categorize them as grumpy. So as you know, when you go to church you shake everyone's hands and give them a friendly good morning with a smile. It's the same in Germany! But the thing is, it is so hard for Germans to pretend to be nice and greet someone that they memorize everyone who they have greeted. It's like a chore on their to-do list, and once they've greeted everyone their smile can turn into a frown and they can go back to being grumpy. The thing is, is that as Americans we are nice people and greet people naturally and don't take mental notes on each person we greeted that day, so sometimes we'll accidentally greet someone twice and try to offer them a handshake. Advice, if you ever visit Germany, don't try to shake a Germans hand twice. They yell at you and say "We have greeted each other already!". This had happened to me many a time but my poor trainee tried to shake a Germans hand twice because he didn't remember greeting him and this member just like yelled at him and it was kinda rude haha. Gotta love these people we're called to serve!
But yeah, not much happened this week. Thanks for the love and support and I'm super happy David was able to return from his mission. I'm looking forward to giving him a hug when I get home.
Love you!Elder Sewell
