Hello again everyone. Already been a week. Not really much happened this week. We had a lot of goodbye visits seeing as Elder Taylor is going home. I dropped him off at the mission office yesterday and am staying with the Zone Leaders until Wednesday when I get my new companion, Elder Paongo. I am staying in the Belmont area. We picked up Elder Turner of Friday from the airport because he is going home with Elder Taylor. They were both ready to go home.
As far as my spiritual thoughts for the week, just focus on The Atonement of Jesus Christ. He is the Mediator, or the person who recompenses for our debt. We can not pay the debt of sin on our own. The debt is too great for any one of us to pay, except for Jesus Christ. He suffered so that we didn't have to, and all that we must do, is pay the debt back to Him as our creditor. He sets the bounds of that debt and how we pay it off. It will not be easy, but it will be possible. The bounds that He has set is the Doctrine of Christ. As we follow Him and do what we can to fully live the Doctrine of Christ, we will be able to say that we fully paid back our debt to Him, and we will not be ashamed at the last day if we truly repent and follow His gospel.
Something that I started on Saturday is reading the Book of Mormon in thirteen days. And it is something that we are doing as a zone leadership. And I have gone in with a question that I would like to have answered and the question is "Who is God?" Since I started on Saturday, I have read 1 Nephi, 2 Nephi, and Jacob. What I have learned is that God is many things, and has many attributes. Some of them are He is a merciful, just, obedient, honest, true, good, righteous, exact God. He wants what is best for each of us. He has named and knows each of us, who are likened unto His sheep. He is our loving Heavenly Father. He wants us to go back and live with Him again when we complete this stage of life.
That is all I have for you this week. Keep up the good work. And thanks to everyone who has emailed me.
