There is an old saying, here in New England. It goes something like, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute." On Wednesday, the first day of spring, the weather was fantastic. 60 degrees. The next day we woke up with snow on the ground. Later this week it will be around 65 again idk guys. Weird.
Well, today is my 8 month mark, as well as 1 year since I opened my mission call. Time flys. How special it has been thus far to serve the Lord here in the Boston area. Anyway this week was an interesting one. Lots of down moments with some miracles mixed in. Let's begin.
We show up to teach one of our investigators about the Word of Wisdom on Saturday, and he and his buddy were both high as a kite with hard liquor and drugs spread out on the kitchen table. We got a nice puff of smoked weed blown into our face precisely as we invited him to live Word of Wisdom. Lol. Later that night, our second most solid investigator, Courtney, dropped us and told us that the Tabernacle of Praise church is the true church and she was lead there by God. We asked her some questions but to no avail. We bore our testimony and invited her to read further in the Book of Mormon. The Apostasy was real folks. C'mon now.
But miracles transpired too, of course. Alan and Chris Lockley came to church again. I mentioned them last week. Chris eyesight has continued to improve at a rapid pace and it's been a great experience to help them. We had other great lessons with Melissa and Bobby. Yesterday we were able to have a group member dinner with Bishop and his family, and his counselors and their families. It was a great time and it was good to feel the support of our ward, we really enjoyed and were grateful for the opportunity. Also, we were able to be the judges for the ward Pinewood Derby! That was quite fun and reminded me just how long ago I took part in that. Good times.
The grind goes on. Hope everyone enjoyed filling out brackets, and watching March Madness this weekend.
