I am the snakemaster, master of the snakes 🐍... and dogs, horses, and donkeys!
📯 Hark, and lend a forsooth ear to thine counsel of his silliness, mine own self. Tis time is nigh to pursue mentionable notices t'was mine week gone past.
Holy cow it's hard to type like that. I was going to do a whole email in old timey speech but my brains started hurting. How did they do it back then? They must have watched a lot of period dramas in the 18th century.
This week I played with snakes, pet some horses, and wrangled some puppies. Basically I'm Dr. Doolittle, if he couldn't talk to animals. Which is kind of his whole deal I guess so I'm not all that much like him.
That being said, from what I can remember the Robert Downey Jr. Version of Dr. Doolittle was actually pretty great. Check it out.

🐍 Anyways, the snakes were cool, a member had some snakes and showed them to us, let us hold them and stuff. There was a small poisonous one, a green mamba, a black python, and a giant one that the owner kept telling me to put around my neck. So I did because I'm a moron and subject to the slightest peer pressure.
It was actually pretty cool, but the owner mentioned that green mambas should only be handled by experts, but only told me that after i had held it for a while lol. It kept trying to go towards my face, and also burrow itself into my shirt, so I had to keep gently pulling it away so it didn't get too comfortable.
🐴 We also met several horses this week, I asked all of them "why the long face?" But none of them answered. One of them was a nosy little (well, still huge but apparently small for a draft horse) draft horse that kept nosing me when we were trying to build a shelter for it. It was pretty cool though. Tried to bite my leg but that's OK I think I just looked like hay or something. (Also saw some wild donkeys. There's wild donkeys here. Donkeh!)
One guy we are teaching is a bit fond of the ol' Marijuana, and he kind of forgets what we teach him every lesson, so we've taught him the first part of the first lesson about 3 times now. Maybe it'll stick? Nice guy though, but sometimes it's hard to tell if someone's interested or just nice and also maybe high as a kite. Once he can remember the first lesson we'll probably jump right to word of wisdom lol.
Met a guy named Ray dog who revved his dunebuggy with a corvette V8 engine for us. Said he'd be at church but didn't show, possible he doesn't know which church we are from.
Drank some expired milk on accident, was really fighting some demons that day let me tell ya hwhat. Always do the sniff test, and "when in doubt throw it out!".
The folk we are teaching keep going out of town, which I don't blame them because it's regularly over 110-115 degrees outside. I would not be here either. But Kylie got baptized on Saturday, and Maelee and Debra are both really close to figuring out a day to get baptized, so there's good stuff happening it's just stuff slows way down during the summer!
📖 Spiritual thought;
In the Book of Mormon, it doesn't have a lot to say about Omni, other than he refers to himself as a wicked man. Now, this is just my interpretation, but I think he may have felt some guilt that he held on to, but here's what I've learned-
The atonement of Jesus Christ is infinite, and that covers everything once we repent. I think the greatest singular show of faith is when we make a conscious decision to let go of guilt and shame once we repented. Honestly, I think that's the most difficult thing to have faith in, even though it's one of the most essential. But that's what I think Omni lacked, no disrespect to him, but hopefully he ended up figuring it out.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is about moving forward! Trust the Lord to take those feelings of shame and guilt away. Because He can!
BTW, thank you for all the emails! I read them all even if I don't have time to respond to every one, but they're much appreciated. Te llamo mucho! 💙
