"And the Lord said: Go to work" (Ether: 2:16)

It's been a good week this week! Recently, me and my companion have had some struggles getting along, and our area suffered because of that. But we worked things out, and set a new goal to talk with at least 20 people a day! And we've seen some cool miracles from that, we've been working hard so it feels great! Having a goal like that for every day really helps with motivation.

We mostly met with a lot of less active members, and an older couple came to church last Sunday for the first time in a long while, and the husband doesn't have the priesthood and they aren't sealed, so we invited them to make that happen! They seemed happy to be back at church.

We also had dinner with this member couple that used to be less active, but they've started coming to church again since we've been meeting with them, and they both have callings now! They're also living with a non member, who we've met several times and have had many unofficial lessons, hopefully he will agree to officially taking the lessons soon!

I was also invited to give a youth in one of our wards a back to school blessing, which was a cool experience. I've given a lot of blessings on my mission but never one for going back to school, so that was neat!

This week I've tried to apply what I've learned from studying the Book of Ether (probably my favorite book in the book of Mormon, that or Moroni/Mormon) , specifically when the brother of Jared asks the lord to make the stones produce light.
In Ether 2-3, The brother of Jared shows us a great example of receiving help from the Lord.
He;
A. Repented first
B. Asked the Lord for instruction with the faith to act on the answer
C. Prepared a plan to present to the Lord

God won't always give us what we want when we come to him with our plan, but through faith he will fulfill our righteous desires according to his timing and his understanding.
As it says in Ether 3:5, "Behold, O Lord, thou canst do this. We know that thou art able to show forth great power, which looks small unto the understanding of men."

An example of this happened to me this week, where we had a plan but the Lord fulfilled it to His understanding.
We were knocking in the worst apartment complex in our area, and we kept getting hassled by some drunk guys yelling at us from their truck and driving circles around us.
Me and my companion both felt impressed to leave, and we thought it was because of the guys in the truck, but when we drove out we saw that they had already left.

So we leave the complex anyways, and decide to try and visit someone we've been trying to for a while. We ended up having a really good conversation while this guy was working on his car, and his wife also came out to talk to us. It was a good visit and he even gave us a small cooler for water bottles.

So we thought a spiritual impression would lead to one thing (being safe from harm) but it lead to something we didn't plan for (meeting that guy in his garage).
God will and does answer our prayers, but he's a lot smarter than anyone else, so we may not understand why something happens one way or another. But He does. And because he Loves us, if we follow the spirit, it will always be the right thing to do.

-The sisters in my district asked me to draw them 2 pigeons with BoMs and name tags. I don't know why lol.
