OK, so thankfully I'm finally feeling better after getting sick this week! Took me out for about 5 days but me and my companion are trying to get back into the groove.
A few miracles this week:
-We were weeding for a service project, and we went to borrow a rake from our ward mission leader. Also our dinner canceled that day. But when we went to go return the rake, our ward mission leader gave us half a pan of delicious lasagna! (He's a really good cook) The Lord provides!
-Also, today during our shopping, a kind woman from Belize said that she had talked with Mormon missionaries before, and they were very nice. So she gave us 20$ to help with our groceries! Shout out to whoever those missionaries were for being nice.
-We have a couple people with potential to be taught! Please keep Justin, Keith, and also Jen in Your prayers. 🙏
So it's now in the 100s of degrees in vegas. It's hot. And also there is a fair amount more bugs than I thought there were. I had a grasshopper fly at my mouth and a moth bump into my nose. They are literally everywhere. Just saying, it would have been nice if Noah had sprayed some Raid on the ark.
Also, thankfully, if we ask anyone for water they usually give us a bottle of water.l! It doesn't matter if it's a member or just a random person, but often people will offer us a bottle of water. It's a very kind act, especially when it's hot. We even had one guy the other day just drive by and offer us a cold bottle of water! I'm sure the Lord has special blessings in store for those aqua heroes who give water to missionaries when it's 103 outside.
Lately we've been sharing this video with members when they feed us. It's about loving, sharing, and inviting in normal and natural ways like the Savior does. Jesus asks us not to hide our light under a bushel, and even if we do have to overcome some challenge (I know I struggle with anxiety talking with others, even as a missionary!) - he will be by our side. In John 14:18, Jesus says:
"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."
So I invite you all to watch this short video, and think about ways to love, share, and invite in our lives, following the example of the Savior.
