6 Month - New Transfer - Good vibe
... Wow, it's been 6 months. That feels strange to say, that I'm 1/4 done with my mission.
I don't know if I have any more to say about that, other than I'm excited for another 18! I've really been enjoying my mission experience, and I've made so many great friends, and I've developed a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Mission is good.
We had an interesting experience at Applebee's this week. So, a little bit ago a very generous member in our ward gave each of us 6 Charleston elders 50$ for food. Naturally, we went to splurge at Applebee's. The waitress we had was super nice and thoughtful, and had just moved here from Ethiopia, so Elder Crookston had an idea- he suggested we leave the rest of the money we got as a tip. So we left about a 190$ tip for her. She was super appreciative of it, so It felt good to do that. Definitely the largest tip I've ever left and probably ever will haha.
Some big news this week- first of all, Kevin is all set to be baptized this Saturday! I'm really excited I got to teach him. I'm hoping that I can make it to his baptism because...
I got transferred! After about 4 and a half months in Charleston, I'm in a different area- kind of lol.
I actually got transferred to where I was before Charleston the San Destin ward. I also have another ward I haven't served in, Silver Mesa. It's a mix of familiar and new, I'm excited for this transfer!
Although I'll miss Charleston- I witnessed a lot of miracles, and had some great times there.
I also got a new companion, Elder Ivey! He's awesome, and I'm excited for the next 7 weeks (it's an extra long transfer, usually they are 6). We both like a lot of the same stuff, we get along really well, and our apartment is super nice!
It felt a bit strange after I got the news of the transfer- it was kind of hard to leave an area I've spent so long in. But we had a special singing Easter event yesterday before transfers- where an amazing chorister led all the missionaries in singing a bunch of hymns, and he told us stories about the hymns. I truly felt the spirit during those hymns, especially the one called "I'll go where you want me to go".
The story he shared with that hymn, was when a group of early missionaries for the church were sent out by Brigham Young- and they sung this song before leaving their families.
Even though transfer news felt a bit strange at first, the spirit reaffirmed that it was right for me, as I felt the spirit during that song.
God bless y'all,
