Hi everyone!
It's been kind of a challenging week so far. I haven't had the opportunity to share a lesson quite yet, (except one small interaction in my first week) but I totally got the points of the restoration memorized so I'm ready for it. I've met a lot of members, there's some really cool people in the ward. Actually part of the stake is in an area called the Ridges, which is like this super fancy neighborhood filled with giant literal mansions. There's actually a lot of gated neighborhoods, which I think I've mentioned before, but this one had like an official security checkpoint, it was pretty cool. Also, it's kind of funny but a lot of cars here are really fancy but usually have tacky paint jobs and vanity license plates.
I was actually sick for a good chunk of this week, but im better now. Being on bikes isn't helping though, it gets really tiring after a while lol. But I know the Lord will give me strength to do the things he's asked me to do.
It's actually been really cool, since being on a mission means your main source of answers and help is God, so you have to learn to rely on the spirit. Me and my companion tried going to houses as directed by the spirit. Those houses tended to be especially rude, so maybe I need to learn how to listen to the spirit better.
We were visited by Elder Gimenez of the Seventy, hes a really cool and funny guy. Gave a really awesome message to the missionaries here. President Nielson and President Ballard showed up in the Las Vegas mission (not the Last Vegas West one I'm in sadly) and gave a devotional, which we got to watch virtually. They talked about preparing people for the new temple in Lone Peak. He said in the message; "We are living in the latter part of the latter-days", which is really cool.
Something funny that happened this week, is we knocked on a door and I began to give my usual spiel of "hi were the missionaries" and then realized he was wearing a BYU shirt, and then my companion whispered he was a member, and I got really embarrassed. We're actually having dinner with them this week, so it'll be great to kind of relive that moment again... 😐.
Anyways, I love you all, God loves you, and I hope you have a great day.
