QOTW: This time, like all times, is a very god one, if we but know what to do with it.
Mucho Ralph Waldo Emerson for ya. Hahaha whats upppp you blessed gorgeous people! Man so glad i get to do this every week WHOO lets goo! So yeah thats just a fire quote for ya, hmmm Elder Anderson but how can i know what to do with this time? that is a great question you beautiful child of God, well let me tell ya. First of all you can pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ for direction... but more importantly you can read the scriptures that God has blessed us with. We are blessed in this last dispensation to have the Book of Mormon, and what a blessing it is. It has changed my life and im sure many of you as well. That is the most important book we could read in this time, and it will tell us what to do to with our blink of an eye time here on earth. The Book of Mormon and the Bible together are more precious than rubies or daimonds, and we should be treasuring up ´their words every day.
So quick story or impression from this week. As we were knocking doors, actually one of my favorite things to do as a missionary, we came upon a street with a good number of houses. So we stopped and started to knock on the doors. I got an impression to knock on a certain door so we walked up and knocked on the door. Well a woman came out and as soon as she saw our plaques and attire she recognized us.... but not for anything good. I proceeded with a great big enthusiastic smile to tell her hello! we are reperesentatives of Jesus Christ, we have a message about him and our purpose in this life. She said I know. Ohhh haha okay then as we talked on the doorstep she started to tell us what we believe and how this is wrong and that is right... my smile slowly started to fade as anger within started to boil. She then said that we worship a different God. As she kept kicking us down with her words I felt more and more like I should fight back and defend the faith. Instead I said okay, can we leave a card with you about Jesus Christ. She shut us down again and closed the door. With defeat in the air and a lump growing in my throat we turned around and walked away from the house. I looked up to the stars and asked my Father in Heaven why I felt prompted to knock on the door of rejection. Then I asked for peace of mind and immediately I felt the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was walking shoulder to shoulder with him. Looking back on that moment i am thankful to have had the chance to be humiliated and humbled. I love my Redeemer Jesus Christ with all my heart and am so glad I have the chance here to share his great message and doctrine with the people of Colombia. What a time to be alive. I know my goal in life now and how I can achieve salvation, and it is only through the Only Begotten of the Father, Jesus Christ. I know he lives and know for a surety that this is his church. He has restored the blessing of the Priesthood in our day in His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I shall do my best every day to serve him and bear testimony about him.
Folks the mission has already had a profound impact on my life. It is my hope and prayer that we will all learn more of christ and make those saving ordinances that are essential for salvation. Love you all so much, God bless you.
