Tifton Transfer 16 Week 5

Knock knock. Who's there? Elder. Elder who? Elder Richardson, back at it with another cheesy weekly. Haha. Anyways, what's going on y'all? Been a solid week? Same here. Absolutely busy. But in a good way. Spoiler: that's missions for you. You wake up, do your exercise/breakfast and personal study, then you're out the door just doing your thing, focusing on others rather than yourself. You wrap things up at around 9, wrap everything up, your head hits the pillow, you're out. Like a light. Rinse repeat. Doesn't that sound so good?? It really is. People will tell us, "Let us know when you have some free time, we'll get you over to do some service" or something like that. And then we're like, "What's free time?" Haven't had that in 2 years ladies and gentlemen. And I love it.
Anyways, let's dive into this week. Not a whole ton to report on. Our people are mostly all doing good. Unfortunately we've hit some stalling with a few of our main people. Tommy moved out of where he was living and we've been trying to get in contact with him. He's just MIA. So that's unfortunate. But we'll get him. Then James decided he's about done meeting with us, he's just been listening to outward pressures rather than to God. That's ok, they'll both come along. Most everyone else has stalled a little bit, so we're trying to rekindle the fire they had. Life just get so busy and distracting at times, and people let other things gain priority over their testimony.
But Y'ALL lemme let you in on a little secret. We work so hard to make life work out, and sometimes put the gospel on the backburner. But if we slow down and let the Gospel, let Christ take preference, then THAT is when life is going to work out. As President Nelson said, "As you make your testimony your highest priority, watch for miracles to happen in your life." Bars. Couldn't say it better. So go to church, magnify your calling, try to minister and love to those around you, give your mom a hug, and life will be ok. Kapish? Kaposh. Glad we got that settled.
BACK to the week. So things have been moving along slowly and surely, but as God does, He blessed us with some good ones as we stayed faithful and on the grind through the trials. We've been working with a few main people. We got Kimberly, who's been struggling with keeping committments. Not sure what happened this week, but she just got so excited about the Book of Mormon and started reading it. So that's been money. Then we found a guy named Trevian that we've been working a lot with. He's a stud. Super humble, willing to change, and loves what we have to say. We brought a recently activated member with us and they just VIBED. So that was cool to see. We'll be going back tonight to talk more. Then we've been working more with this 20 year old named Jalen who's also a beast. Teaching him allows us to get the priests involved and excited about the gospel which has been sweet. So good things are happening. God just keeps on blessing us with those good ole tender mercies to keep us chugging along.
Other things to report on, we had a few tradeoffs. We had one with the AP's on wednesday which was fire as always, those guys are awesome. We blitzed Tifton and got some good work done. Elder Jackson and I were working out of Sylvester and had some fire lessons, and the day was drawing to the close. Our goal in our mission is to hand out a copy of the Book of Mormon a day, and we wanted to hit that. We were doing some good ole street finding in a trailerpark looking for some people to talk to, but absolutely nobody was outside. We were walking back, when a car drove past us and was flipping around to drive back past us and off the street. We tried to wave them down and get them to stop, with no luck. Then the spirit brought to my mind stories my brother had shared with me about how they would run down cars trying to make a contact, so we did just that haha. We got the guy to stop, started chatting, turns out he met with missionaries before and really enjoyed it. We snagged his address, gave him a Book of Mormon, money. Then we saw a family, all the way down the street, pull in to their driveway, get out of their car and start heading inside. We ran down to them, did our thing, turns out they recently moved to Sylvester, didn't like their last church, and are looking for a church. Money. So super good day.
Not a whole ton else to report on to be honest. We wrapped up our tradeoffs this week with the McRae elders, and Elder Clark came down to Tiffy with me. He's a goon, we had such a good time. Biked around Sylvester a whole lot, had some fire lessons, whole bunch of good stuff.
We've also been working hard to get some weekly activities going on for the ward to invite their friends to which has been going good. This week they absolutely popped off because school's out. We do a boardgame night on tuesday, then a sports night on thursday. Good turnout overall. Nothing like smacking some little kids in good ole bump/lightning/whatever you want to call it.
But super good week overall. We'll get transfer news this week and I'm praying to stay. Elder Branham and I finna run it back for another one. We have interviews with President tomorrow, so I might slip a little bit of begging in there so I can stay in Tifton for my last one. It's also our last interviews with President Wood, which really is sad. But I'm looking forward to it. Anyways, that's about it. Time to stop the rambling and let y'all get back to your busy lives (and making your testimony your highest priority). Have an amazing week, and remember that Jesus loves you and so do I!!
Elder Richardson

Quote of the Week: President Nelson, 2022 Worldwide Devotional
"My dear young friends, I love you. I thank you. I believe in you. As the Lord’s prophet, I bless you to know the truth about who you are and to treasure the truth about what your glorious potential really is. I bless you to take charge of your own testimony. And I bless you to have the desire and strength to keep your covenants. As you do, I promise that you will experience spiritual growth, freedom from fear, and a confidence that you can scarcely imagine now. You will have the strength to have a positive influence far beyond your natural capacity. And I promise that your future will be more exhilarating than anything you can presently believe."
