What's going on y'all?? And Happy Mothers Day to all those moms, future moms, and stay at home dads out there!! Before we dive in I just wanna give a shout out to all the awesome moms in my life. First off, I have the best mom. No contest. If you disagree shoot me an email and we'll discuss it. I also have the best women in my life! From grandma's, sisters, great grandma's, friends, I'm grateful for every amazing lady that God has placed in my life to keep me in line! He knows I need it. So love y'all so much, thanks for all you do!!
That being said, let's dive into this week. And honestly, we don't have a whole ton to report on. So as a happy mothers day gift, we'll keep the rambling to a minimum and let y'all get to the pics as soon as possible. You're welcome in advance. But to start things out, teaching was alright this week. Not a whole lot too exciting to report. This week was more of a finding week than teaching week. Lot's of spirit tracting, street contacting, biking, visiting referrals, all that fun stuff.
We did have a few good lessons this week though. One was with our girl Kimberly. She's on bap date for May 22, but hasn't been showing too much of a desire to put in the work to get to baptism. So we threw our trusty bikes on the back of the bike rack, drove up to Sylvester, parked at the park, and biked over to her house. We showed up and knocked, she answered the door, you know the deal. At first she told us she wasn't feeling well so she couldn't meet, but then she saw that we had ridden our bikes over. We were sitting there, sweating and panting because of the 95 degree heat, gnats swarming us, having a great time, and she felt bad for us so told us we could have a lesson. Kaching baby. So we proceeded to have SUCH a solid lesson. We watched the Rome Temple walkthrough video (such a money video if you haven't seen it yet), and set the expectation that baptism isn't the end. The end is being able to be pure like Christ is pure, and have the opportunity to be in His presence (ie. The temple). So she got psyched about that and is now motivated to change. Good stuff. So note to self, if you're having a hard time meeting with your friends, have them throw you a pity party. It works.
We also are working pretty hard on our boy Tommy. He's a legend. He came to church last week, is absolutely in love with our church, is reading and praying, cash money. The only thing holding him back is getting his wife on board. So please pray for the Adams family (haha I know).
ALSOO we had such a sweet contact with our boy Chase. He's our neighbor and we've been using the Love, Share, Invite method of missionary work on that man. I'll break it down. So basically how it works, is you introduce yourself/get to know them. Next, you do different things to show you love them. For chase, it's complement his truck and listen to him talk about what challenges he's going through. After that, when you have a relationship built, you can share the gospel in a way to fill his needs. Chase says he needs peace, we gave him a Book of Mormon to bring him peace. And finally, once you share, you invite them to do something to grow their faith in Christ. Simple enough? Good. That's your homework assignment. Get to know your neighbor, your cash registrar, the worker at Taco Bell, whatever it may be. Then Love, Share, Invite. That's the basis of missionary work y'all, that's the basis of being a true disciple of Christ!!
Anyyywaysss back to Chase. We had MLC this week so we had to drive 2 1/2 hours down to Jacksonville. While we were driving we were making some calls and decided to call Chase. Turns out he had just had an especially hard day with the things he's going through. So for the next two hours we talked with him about his situation, and got to share the gospel. We then set up an appointment with him, got some sweet teaching opportunities, and to make a long story short he's praying about the Book of Mormon and baptism now. Chase is solid y'all. Plus he's letting us borrow his nice golf clubs to go play golf today. But he's going through a lot so keep him in y'alls prayers!!
Gosh I promised to keep it short but it's getting long. Almost done I promise. But yeah that was mostly our week. Monday through Thursday was full of driving to District Councils, making lots of contacts, being out and about the Lord's work, seeing some major miracles, all that fun stuff. Then Thursday evening we drove down to MLC which was pretty sick. Kinda sad, like all my buddies aren't at MLC any more so it's not quite the same, but still super fun. We talked a lot about finding in rural areas, (aka the Tifton Zone), member-centered missionary-supported missionary work, breeding excitement for the work, biking, street contacting, a bunch of good stuff. So it was fun. But also, turns out this was President and Sister Wood's last MLC with us. They're time is up at the end of June, so they literally go home 3 weeks before I do. The last like 20 minutes was just them bearing powerful testimony of missionary work, and I'm not ashamed to admit that a few little tears leaked out. Those two are awesome. Such a God-send. Amazing examples of Christlike love, service, and care. So they'll be missed. Luckily we still have some time.
Anyways, that's about all I got. This work is amazing y'all. I was talking with a buddy of mine at MLC, and we came to the conclusion that this is the LIFE. All we're expected to do, is just go out, bust our tails, pray, study, talk to people, and declare life-altering truths. The only real responsibility and worry we have is not running out of the money they give us in the first week. So life's good. Real good. Y'all are awesome, keep absolutely killing it. Happy Mothers day to all the moms and mother figures in my life, and to all the fathers your time is coming. Keep being those member-missionaries, and remember that Jesus loves y'all and so do I!!

“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual, and physical education I received from her.”
