Tifton Transfer 15 Week 5
What's going on y'all?? Happy Easter!! What a solid week it's been. Beautiful weather, buds growing on all the pecan trees, and best of all an entire week to think about, study about, and give thanks to the best part of the week, Jesus Christ. He's amazing y'all. Shall we talk about Him and what He's done for us this week? Let's do it.
So starting off, this week was a little bit of a frustrating one by way of our people. We're hitting the doldrums with some of our people, they're just majorly stalling and not much is going on. A lot of lessons falling through, but that's OK!! Because of the missed lessons, we had more time to absolutely bool around, listen to the promptings of the spirit, and be at the right place at the right time. There were so many times where we were just absolutely lost on what to do next, feeling like we had exhausted all the options, but just felt prompted to talk to a certain person, or go to a certain place, and we would witness an absolute miracle.
Like for example, probably the biggest miracle of my week was with Bro Hill. So starting off, we had gone over to the church for a lesson, and realized that the Hills were throwing a wild baby shower haha. Fast forward, and the lesson ended up falling through, so we went back to the apartment to grab a few things and regroup. We were making plans, but for some reason we felt super prompted to go back to the church. Didn't have any reason to go back, actually had a reason not to go back so we wouldn't disturb the baby shower, but whatever the spirit dictates we do haha. So we ended up going back, and Sis Hill was SO glad to see us. She told us that Bro Hill was back home basically dying, and his phone had died so she had no way to get ahold of him. So she asked us to go check on him and give him a blessing. We went over, and sure enough he was struggling. We gave him a blessing, probably one of the most spirit-filled blessings, and went on our way. It's just such a sweet feeling to be on the Lords errand. No better feeling.
So besides that, not a ton to report on. Easter was fun, we had 2 easter meals at the Breys and the Largers, they were both so fire. Delicious food, awesome families, and we made some sick cookies. We also had a few lessons with Louise, and she is such a crack up. She has some major style so we taught her what drippin means, and now she says that she's drippin. She also doesn't think we can cook so she's going to teach us some old southern lady tricks to cooking.
We also got news this week that we'll be going to the temple this next week! We'll drive down to Jacksonville tuesday night, stay the night, then drive down to Orlando on Wednesday. I am so. Hype. The temple is SUCH a special place, and it's been a LONG time since I've had the opportunity to go. There's just such peace to be found in God's house and so I'm so pumped.
But honestly that's about it. This week wqs good, Easter was good, and Jesus Christ is SO GOOD y'all. There was a quote in conference by Elder Ballard that I really liked where he says, "I testify that my mission is where I came to know that my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ, know and love me." And I can follow that up with my testimony. I too can testify that through my mission, through the struggles, the frustrations, the highs, the lows, the missed lessons, the angry investigators, through it all, I've gained a testimony that I know that Jesus loves me. I don't understand everything that went into the Atonement, I don't understand how He could have felt every pain, every frustration, every ache that I have felt for the last 2 years and 18 years before that, but I do know that He did. Because it's in those struggles that I haven't felt alone. And so I'm so grateful for my Savior. For the deep love He has specifically for me, and specifically for each one of y'all. I put the cheesy "remember that Jesus loves y'all and so do I" line at the end of every one of my emails, but it's true!! He really does, so much. So if you don't feel it, just take a little bit by yourself. Clear your mind, get out of your head, and just offer up a humble, heartfelt prayer, asking how He thinks about you. And I can promise it'll be special!
Anyways, y'all already know all that. But the Good News is just too good to keep to myself. I just love this gospel so much :). Keep killing it y'all, have a great week, don't party too hard, and remember that Jesus loves y'all and so do I!!
Elder Richardson
Scripture of the Week: 1 Nephi 19:8-9
8 And behold he cometh, according to the words of the angel, in six hundred years from the time my father left Jerusalem.9 And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men.
