Tifton Transfer 14 Week 3
Whaaatsss upp y'all? What a week we just had here in good ole Georgia. How does the saying go? "Time flies when you're on the missionary grind"? Something like that. Seems like we were just here, sitting at this same spot, writing this same intro for the 50th time in a row. Good times? Good times. Well without further ado, what did God do for us this week?? So much. Hit that rewind button.
So starting off on Tuesday, we had an absolutely packed day. Lessons every hour of the day basically, just running around Sylvester and Tifton testifying about the one and only way to heaven, Jesus Christ. After we got done with all our lessons, we took off to Madison to pick up the Tallahassee ZL's on our way to Jacksonville for MLC. So we drove over, picked up our boys Elders Toolson and Callaway, and drove to Jacksonville. We got there in the evening, and went to a fire all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant named Fuji. Basically how it goes down there is you get a menu with all the items numbered, then you write down the number of all the items you want. No limit. But every piece of food that you don't eat is .50 cents. So we feasted there, then went over to the Jax West ZL's, more of my buddies Elders Ulrich and Williams, to stay the night.
The next day we got up and had MLC which was a blast as usual. Lots of good discussion, lots of inspiration, lots of fun. MLC is always so sick, literally all of my favorite missionaries there in one place so it's a party. Especially getting to learn from President and Sister Wood, literal angels on earth. A lot of the discussion was about street contacting, urgency, how basketball protocols are back to pre-covid rules (let's go baby), and unity. So lots of stuff to learn. So we had a good discussion, MLC ended, and we had a tradeoff with the AP's right after which was fun. Had some cool lessons, and then had a cool experience street contacting.
So we had just finished a lesson and had like 20 minutes before we needed to be home, and we decided to do some spirit finding. We went back to the car looking for a Book of Mormon to take with us, but only found a Spanish Book of Mormon. Something prompted me to grab it and take it with us, but I pushed off the thought thinking it was useless. We didn't need a Spanish Book of Mormon, we needed an English one. Or so I thought. We walked around, and saw a grandma and her granddaughter going on a walk so we walked up and started talking to them. Turns out she didn't speak any English, only Spanish. So I whipped out my MTC Spanish and started talking with her. Elder Jackson didn't speak any, so I was soloing it. But honestly it was pretty easy to carry a conversation. We chatted, then I asked her if she had heard about Jesus's ministry to the people of Ancient America. She said no, so we taught her about the Book of Mormon. We told her we'd grab one for her, ran back to the car to grab it, but when we came back she was gone haha. We looked around for her and she had walked around the side of the building, probably hiding from us 😂. But we gave her the Book of Mormon, testified of it, and invited her to grow closer to Christ through reading it.
But I was thinking a little bit about that, what if we didn't find her? What if because I avoided a prompting, she didn't get to receive one of THE most precious gifts on the planet, more knowledge about Jesus Christ. Luckily, the Lord had my back this time. But how often does that happen? Where we get a thought to do something, help someone, call someone, but we push it off. But that's the spirit! Joseph Smith has a quote that says something like, "When you act on the first prompting, you will get it right 99% of the time". So act on the first impression, and don't question it. It doesn't matter if it's from the spirit, or just your own thought, if it's good, then it's of God. And through you, God can work His miracles.
So anyways, that's something that I learned this week. Back to the absolute page-turning story...
So we finished our tradeoffs with the AP's, and drove the long 3 hour drive back to Tifton. And now we've just been doing our thing, trying to follow those first promptings and work some miracles out here in Tifton. So that's basically it. Our people are doing good, but Louise, Daniel and Nikki could all use some extra prayers. They're moving along, they just have some challenges to overcome until they're ready for baptism.
But other than that things have been good. Oh and I also hit 5 months left as a missionary a few days ago, absolutely wild. Kind of scary to be honest. Life's good, the work is a grind but so fulfilling, and the church sure is true. Keep killing it y'all, remember that Jesus loves y'all and so do I!!

Scripture of the Week: D&C 9:8
8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
