Gainesville Transfer 13 Week 7
Goood morning y'all!! It's been so long! 7 short days have flown by down here in Gainesville, and here we are again. Back here, writing this same email, cracking the same cringy jokes, and just loving mission life. Isn't God good?? He really is. Well let's get down to business. We got some good things to discuss today.
First off this week. How was it? Wild. How so? Honestly I'm trying to remember haha. But let's start off talking about our friends shall we? Bad news first. Our girl Karen wanted to meet with us this week, and we had a little break up. So rewind a few weeks, we were pretty bold on how she needed to get out of her head, and just pray and ask God about whether we have the authority and right to claim to be Jesus's church on the earth. She told us she would, and then we didn't hear from her for a little bit. Then this tuesday she took us out to lunch, and told us she had received her answer. She told us how she said a prayer, and then continued to search on Google, reading articles about what we "believe". She told us she couldn't accept what she read, whether it was factual or not, and that she didn't want us coming over to talk about our beliefs anymore. She still wanted us to come do service, but unfortunately that's not exactly what we do as missionaries, so we had to go our separate ways. And that was pretty hard honestly. We had put a lot of time and effort into helping her feel the spirit and see the truth of what we believe, and she decided she was good. But it just helped me remember the importance of agency and where our heart wants to take us. She was comfortable where she was. She didn't feel like she needed anything more. And sometimes that happens with all of us. Now when we settle, God doesn't force, or coerce, or persuade us to choose Him. He respects our choice, lets us receive the natural consequences, and then when we see how much we need Him, he's there in an instant. A loving father, with His arms stretched out, ready to help us when we choose him.
So anyways, that's how Karen went. But that's ok. We ended up having a few lessons with the Ricks and Joseph, which all went good. They're still doing good, just slowly moving through the lessons. The Ricks are going through it right now though, so keep them in your prayers!! Not much else noteworthy by way of teaching this week.
Now this week our spanish did get thrown into the fire a little bit haha. On a tradeoff earlier this week, Elder Bloom had stopped by a less active, who wanted us to go visit her mom who was also a member, who was in a rehab center. We stopped by, (almost had to pay 2 dollars because they wouldn't let us go in without face shields but we did some persuading and got them for free), and visited her. We walked in the room, and see this tiny hispanic lady, gibbering spanish into a phone. She looks at us, hangs up the phone, and excitedly starts talking to us. Now I don't think I've had a natural conversation with someone in spanish for over a year. But y'all, the gift of tongues is real. We chatted with her for a good 20 minutes, shared a scripture, and then set up another time to teach her english and also practice spanish with her. Such a tender mercy, spanish is the celestial language. Change my mind.
So that was fun. Not much else to report on this week though. Had all our YSA activities which were fun, we're getting this one guy, who we found at the free carwash that we do, to come to a lot of the activies so hopefully soon he'll be interested in being taught. He's more interested in the social aspect right now, but we'll get him.
But now let's get to the big stuff, transfer news. We got the calls, and I literally got the dream transfer call. I'll be going up to Tifton Georgia, staying ZL, and I'll be with one of my buddies, Elder Hansen. And I'm pumped. Tifton's like the coveted area in the mission because the work is so good out there. Plus I'll be getting some good ole southern cooking. And hopefully some gator. So it'll be good. Transfers happen on Thursday so I'll be heading up there then. Honestly super sad to leave the YSA though. This has been my favorite area for sure. Such fun work, met a ton of awesome people, good stuff. But we move on.
So yep, that's about all I got. Life's good, we're doing good, the 6 month to sexy grind is going strong, and I'm excited to go experience some mighty miracles up in Georgia. But have a good week, remember that Jesus loves y'all and so do I!!

Scripture of the Week: 2 Nephi 9:21
21 And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam
