Gainesville Transfer 13 Week 1

Merry Christmas!!! How are y'all doing? Hopefully just as jolly as can be. Things are going good over here. The weather finally has gone below 70 degrees for the first time in the last while, and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Well more like late summer. But regardless. The Christmas miracles are abounding down here in Florida, so let me tell y'all all about it.
This last week was an absolute blur. The YSA have finally all departed to their separate homes and vacations for Christmas Break, and we are now all alone. So the last little while has been a lot of member work. We've been going crazy on the member visits, visiting a ton of less actives and members we haven't met yet in the 3rd ward. So we've been busy.
Our people are doing really well as well. We've continued to meet with the Ricks, the family of 6 that we found the other week. And they're just amazing. Last lesson, we had read through John 10 and introduced the Book of Mormon. We were a little worried to see how they'd respond, due to the fact that they were a little apprehensive to the whole "Mormon" thing at the beginning, but they accepted it really well. The kids just absolutely love us haha, one of the kids came up to us during the lesson and was like, "I have two things to say to you. And don't judge me or think this is weird. But you guys are like brothers to me. And I really like your hair." Adorable. They're super awesome, they'll be coming to church with us on Sunday and we'll be meeting with them to have a little Christmas Eve bible study as well.
And then for Justin, things are going well there as well. We showed up, and he was like, "I can feel that this is a good thing. Can we talk about baptism?" Pretty epic haha. Things still feel a little weird there, we're not sure if there's something he isn't telling us. We're kind of thinking he's been baptized into our church before, because he has kind of inferred that a few times, and the spirit keeps prodding at something, but he says he hasn't. So Detective Richardson is on the case. But regardless we put him on date for January 15th. So we're gonna work towards that. Pray for him please!!
Not much else went on this week. We did some spirit finding and ended up finding some long lost member who told us she was baptized into our church 20 years ago, but she thinks we're Jehovah's Witnesses. But we have her records so she was indeed baptized into our church, just she thought she was getting baptized into the jdubs or something. But she was super sweet, she had us all put our hands in the middle like cheer style, then she said a prayer. Then she started gospel singing to us, and actually had some solid pipes. We'll be going back there this next week for a bible study with her and her family and friends. We also got to play some streetball with some kids, we played on like a 5 foot tall hoop that didn't have a backboard and we played with a flat soccer ball. So it was mostly just run around and shove people to try to get to the hoop. Fun stuff.
Right now we're helping out one of our members with a puppy he just bought. He's having us watch it in his apartment while he goes to run some errands, and so it's just sleeping on Elder Bloom's lap right now. Also adorable. So fun stuff.
Honestly though that's about it. Good things are happening, and I'm just loving this Christmas season. Make sure to continue to Light the World, Light someone's day in a little way every day. That is how we can give back to the Savior. By simply doing what He would do, serving others the way He did. Merry Christmas, keep keeping Christ in Christmas, and remember that Jesus loves y'all and so do I!
