Hey y'all top of the morning to each and every one of you! Long time no see. Or long time no read. Or long time no skip through my boring email and look through the pictures. Whichever category you fall into. Hopefully you all had such a fantastic week, we definitely did! Chock full of miracles, spiritual powerhouses, and just a good week overall.
Teaching
-First things first we had the baptism for Janet yesterday, and all I can say is wow. Such a spiritual experience. God has plans for this lady lemme tell ya. She loved every second of it and it went super smooth which we were all glad about. Except for when we were singing the last song and of course Elder Foster and I (mostly me) accidentally put the wrong song lyrics on the baptismal pamphlet for the closing song. So that was an awkward 3 minutes of everyone either humming or pretending they knew the words to the song we were singing. All fun times though.
- We had some
bomb.com lessons this week with some of our people, including Rhonda. Rhonda's progressing really well, loving the Book of Mormon and really gaining a testimony for and love of Joseph Smith. Now we're trying to get her to take that next step to go to church and committ to baptism. So please pray for her!!
- Honestly this week was a lot of driving around trying to clear out our area book and visit all our yellow dots. Media referrals go crazy here, we get a good 5 a week so it keeps us crazy busy visiting all of them. But the Lord's been blessing us and sending us some people who are willing to let God prevail in their lives.
That's about it by way of teaching. Lots of hard work but lots of blessings for it.
Other
- We also had Zone Conference this week which was amazing as usual. A big focus this zone conference was complete consecration and the power of covenants. P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L. Nuff said about that. Zone Conference is always such a special experience, just 8 short hours of straight revelation as the windows of heaven are opened up and God shows us missionaries exactly what we need to change and do in order to be even better missionaries. So that's always pretty cool. Plus nothing better than spending time with mission mom and dad, President and Sister Wood. Those two are a power couple. And just perfect in every way shape and form. They honestly just remind me of the Savior and who He would be if He were here, and it's a good motivator and example for me of who I need to be. So all that was pretty cool.
- More tradeoffs this week which were a blast, lots of hard work running around with fresh blood working some nice miracles. I love tradeoffs and the fun times they bring. I also have learned the guitar a little bit from one of the elders who is an absolute beast on the guitar. He taught me a few things so watch for an Elder Richardson pulling some guitar strings, and some heart strings, coming to you soon.
Honestly that's about it. This email's been pretty dry but I promise it was a good week. Time is flying by out here. Sometimes a little too fast. And crazy enough, this last week I hit my year mark out on the mission. I know. Crazy. It's been a wild ride so far. There were a few things I didn't really expect, that have opened my eyes out here on the mission so far. First off, I didn't expect to be in Florida. I thought I'd be out in the jungles of Peru, speaking spanish and eating cuy. I didn't expect missions and everything about it to be as hard as it is sometimes. I didn't expect how tiring it would be to dedicate 24/7 to the Lord, forgetting about myself. BUT. I also didn't expect to come to love a people, an area, a state as much as I have come to love the crazy people of Florida. I didn't expect that I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, teaching any other message. I didn't expect the changes I would see in myself, the great love I would find of the Gospel, and the amazing personal relationship I would grow with my Savior Jesus Christ. The mission has changed me so far, and I'n so grateful for each and every day that I get to wake up, put the name of Jesus Christ on myself, and go out and WORK. It's a blessing let me tell you. So here's to one more year on the mission. One more year of wearing His name on a nametag. And the rest of my life of wearing His name in my heart. I hope y'all have an amazing week and remember how loved each and every one of you are by the Savior Jesus Christ, and by me. Love y'all!!
