Tallahassee Transfer 9 Week 4

How are y'all doing this fine florida morn?? Nothing like enjoying a beautiful p'day morning and emailing all of my favorite people. Life is good. Real good. So anyways, lets get down to business. I feel like my emails have gotten a little dry so let's try out a new method for how I write my emails....
Teaching:
1. We were able to help Shirley clear away a lot of her concerns about baptism. She now only wants to talk to her family and tell them that she's getting baptized, and then she'll set a date with us. We're excited for her!
2. Janet is set on getting baptized next sunday. She's super excited for it, but please keep her in your prayers to help her overcome the adversity that Satan will throw at her this week!
3. Lots of contacting this week with a few REALLY strange experiences haha. We were looking for a lady by the name of Brooke, and the address we had led us to this rundown house in the middle of nowhere. We knocked on the door, and two ancient ladies answered. One of them mumbled at us to come in, no questions asked, then they walked back to their couches. We walked in and introduced ourselves, and then fully expecting one of them to be Brooke, we asked which one of them was Brooke. They both just stared at us. Then one mumbled that Brooke lives in a trailer behind that house. The other one just sat on the couch eating pieces of raw potato with a massive butcher knife, and had a strange glint in her eye. We were caught a little off guard, but decided to make the most of the situation. We tried to chat and start a conversation, but they wouldn't really talk, just mumble one word responses to our questions. So we ran out of stuff to get to know them with real quick, so we asked about their religious history, asked if they wanted to do bible studies, got their info and then set up some studies. Strange. But it gets stranger. We then go to the trailer that Brooke supposedly lives in. We walk up, and there are two nice looking guys sitting in a car. One of them gets out and tells us he has a word to say to us. He then goes on to rant for about 10 minutes to us, telling us how he is Brigham Young's great, great, great... grandson, a literap descendant. And back when he was younger, he reached out to the church to get validation, or free college at BYU for his kids, or free money, who knows what, because he's royalty, and he got denied. And so he is not really a fan of the people who told him no. We basically just told him that people shouldn't have treated him unkindly, and we will make sure not to, and then told him we'd come teach him more about his divine heritage. Then we learned our investigator was quite wasted in the trailer, so we went on our merry way. Super nice people, just such a random experience.
4. We found a couple new people that we're excited about. We received a referral for a lady named Dorothy, who we stopped by and talked to. She. Is. Amazing. Her whole house is straight out of africa, she has tribal decorations, stuffed bobcats, gazelle's, the whole shabang. She also was best friends with missionaries pre-covid, and just fell through the cracks so she already knows a whole lot. So we're excited about her. We also found a new family, the dad being Billy. He really wants to learn how to read the bible, so we'll help him out with that, and we'll even give him a book that helps explain and expound the bible (book of mormon). And his kids are an absolute riot. They all just run around in their diapers screaming while we teach, and they have some attitude. It's hilarious. So we're excited about them.
5. We've made sure to be pretty bold recently to our investigators recently about our purpose as missionaries, to bring them into the true church. That's been the key that I've found, is just testifying boldly and powerfully about our message, and leaving it up to them. So we have a lot of people praying about Joseph Smith, our church, the Book of Mormon, and hopefully we'll be able to help them make covenants with God. Keep them in your prayers!
Honestly that's about it for this week. Things are going good, I'm good, the work is good, all is well in Zion. Just remember that all of y'all are loved, by Jesus and by me. Have a great week!

Spiritual Thought:
Restoration Proclamation
https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/the-restoration-of-the-fulness-of-the-gospel-of-jesus-christ/a-bicentennial-proclamation-to-the-world?lang=eng
Go read the Restoration Proclamation, and get back to me on how you felt while reading it. How many churches declare that they are the one true church? How many churches declare that they are led by a prophet of God? How many churches declare that the heavens are open, revelation continues, and God still loves and talks to His children? It would only make sense that God's one true church would declare these things. Give it a read!
