Tallahassee Transfer 9 Week 1

Buenass Diaaass!! How are y'all doing this beautiful Florida morning? Hopefully feeling pumped to read your favorite missionaries email. Well I'm excited to guide you through this wild week. So let's get to it!
First off with teaching. Honestly not a lot has changed, just pretty normal missionary work this week. We had a little bit of a harder time getting in contact with people this week, but we still had some good lessons with our main friends. A lot of our focus right now is going towards Shirley. She's doing so good, loving the Gospel, loving the steps that she's making, and she's really seriously working towards baptism now. This last week we just had a whole lesson where we pumped up baptism and the blessings of it, lemme tell you, it was powerful. So that was cool. So she's just trying to feel integrated more into the branch before she makes any lifechanging decisions. And so to help her out a little bit, Elder Foster and I took out our trusty baking skills, made her some cookies, and had some members deliver them. She really enjoyed that. So when you're in doubt on how to serve, it's simple-- make cookies. You don't even really have to make them, buy a cookie dough pack from walmart, set oven to 350, put balls of dough on a cookie tray 2 inches apart, and throw them in for 10-12 minutes. Voila. But other than that that's about it for teaching this week. One of the kids we're teaching did ask for an autograph from yours truly,  not sure what impressed him but I guess he thinks I'm famous or something haha. Bjt things are still just moving along, trying to help our friends find the peace and protection that comes from the arms of Jesus and His gospel and His church.
Soo on another note, you know this hurricane that went through Florida not too long ago? Yeah so this past tuesday, we get a text from our mission president telling all missionaries in the Tallahassee area to cancel all their plans, and be inside of our apartments by 3 that afternoon. Now we had some important lessons planned, so not gonna lie I was a tad bit frustrated. BUT they were looking out for our survival so that's kind of them. So we go in our apartments for hurricane lockdown, and uneventful is an understatement for how it went. I was expecting tornados, lightning, hard rain, maybe even cats and dogs, but it probably rained for a good 3 hours for the 20 hours that we were inside. Not much happened. But hey we were safe so that's what matters! So that was cool.
But honestly that's about it. The work is moving along, I'm super excited about the miracles we're going to see this next month and a half in Quincy and Tallahassee. Being a missionary is just the best, and I really mean that. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. There's just too much joy to be found in this work!! But have an amazing week everyone, just remember that Jesus loves you, and so do I.

Spiritual Thought:
1 Nephi 19:99 And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men

I've been thinking a lot about the Savior, and all He has done for me. Think about all He did, all He does, and all He will do. What do we do to deserve it? Nothing. We can't do anything to deserve the things He does for us, the love He manifests to us through His actions. BUT, we can show appreciation. He did it all because He loves us, and we can show gratitude by simply showing love back. To Him, to His followers, especially to those who don't seem like His followers. Because that's all Christ is about, is simply just love. So go out and love someone today! Show them you care, and show them Christ cares by your simple actions and manifestations of love! That's an invitation, and I'll be following up on that in a week. So go love.
