Tallahassee Transfer 8 Week 6

Heyyy Y'alll!! Good morning!! How is everything going this fine summers morn. This was an absolutely wild week, a lot of stuff to talk about. So without further adeu...
First off, let's get the big news out of the way. We had transfer calls this last saturday, and I have been for sure that I'd be taking off. I've been in Tallahassee for just a little bit now, so getting transfer calls I was fully expecting to leave. Turns out the Lord has other plans for me, so I'll be staying to finish training Elder Foster. So let's go, I'm actually pretty excited to stay and finish up some of the work that has gone on the last 6 months that I've been here. And once this transfer is over, I'll have spent 1/3 of my mission in Tallahassee. So that's hype.
Sooo anyways, let's detour a little bit, hit a quick u-turn and I'll let y'all know why I'm pumped to stay a little bit. Not gonna lie, Tallahassee is feeling a little bit old, but God blessed us this week so it doesn't matter how I feel. Because this week by way of teaching, we saw a few miracles. First off, Shirley, one of our ladies, committed herself to being baptized sometime in the near future. She wants to be more integrated into the church before she gets baptized, but she is whoeheartedly excited to show her love to Christ. So we're excited about that, she's been dragging her feet a little bit so this act of faith is amazing. Second off, Janet, is also going to be baptized soon. She is picking a date and it'll almost certainly happen this transfer so I'm excited to stay for that. Third off, Andria is still doing well, still struggling but we are determined to get her baptized this transfer. She really wants it, and we really want it for her, so we're going to work towards that. Fourth off, this week by way of finding went really good. We actually had the strangest experience this last saturday at an apartment complex that we were visiting some referrals at. We show up, and get out of the car, then this random lady runs up to us all excitedly asking how we're doing. She then out of nowhere just runs up and hugs me and my comp, (I was kind of caught off guard to say the least), and she told us that we needed to visit her soon. This whole time I had no idea who she was. But then a few minutes later I remembered, she was some lady that we had found street contacting who absolutely loved us, but then had disappeared off the face of the earth. So it was so cool to see her and have her still show interest. Right after that weird experience, we went up to a media referral, knocked on the door, and some big rough lookimg guy answered the door. We asked for the referral, he went and got her, and me of little faith, I was expecting complete rejection. But they let us in, and it was a cute little family of 5 living in there all looking to increase their faith in Jesus. The mom is super religious and is trying to teach her children about Jesus and she wants to use us as some "spiritual tutors". No complaints here. We taught them about the Book of Mormon, spirit was super strong, then we set up another visit with them. So that was crazy. Then, when we were driving away, like every person we passed waved to us and looked so happy to see us. Usually it's the exact opposite, there was just such a happy vibe over this entire complex and it made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. So that was neat. So by way of teaching, things are going really good. God blessed us this week so I'm excited for this little tender mercy and I'm going to work hard to getter done.
On other notes, this week we had the District Leader Conference again, so all DL's from the mission met up in Lake City to discuss how to be a better District Leader. It was honestly super helpful, such an revelation-full day. And this time I actually felt like I knew what I was talking about, when we had this a few transfers ago I was a brand new DL and knew absolutely nothing. I still know absolutely nothing, but it was an awesome experience nonetheless. It was so amazing to be able to council with President about drama and issues going on, he is just such an inspired man, truly guided by God so I was so grateful for this little 7-8 hour meeting.
Other than that there's not much to report on. Things are going good, I'm good, the work is going good, florida is good, all the moisture and sunshine we're getting is good, God is good. Remember that everybody. And also remember, Jesus loves you, and so do I. Have a great week!!

Spiritual Thought:
1 Nephi 13: 12, 15
12 And I looked and beheld a man among the Gentiles, who was separated from the seed of my brethren by the many waters; and I beheld the Spirit of God, that it came down and wrought upon the man; and he went forth upon the many waters, even unto the seed of my brethren, who were in the promised land.
15 And I beheld the Spirit of the Lord, that it was upon the Gentiles, and they did prosper and obtain the land for their inheritance; and I beheld that they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain.

In this chapter of the Book of Mormon, it's talking about America! One of the ancient prophets Nephi, prophesied of a man, (Christopher Columbus) being guided by God, to a promised land, where people could prosper and worship God. And I can second Nephi's statements, that this land really is promised land. The freedoms we enjoy, the blessings, comforts, all absolutely amazing. The best part of all though, is this land made it possible for God to establish His church on the earth. And this land makes it possible for me to to out to the world, proclaiming the divinity, the power, and the magnificence of the name of Jesus Christ, to every ear, every heart. We are too blessed y'all!! God is too good in blessing us with the U.S. of A. Happy Independance Day!!
