Tallahassee Transfer 8 Week 4

What is happening mi familia y amigos?? How are y'all doing this fine morning? The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, my charitable hijo companion is in the kitchen washing dishes for me, life is good. Well, let's talk about what has been happening this exceptionally amazing yet busy week.
So, one of the duties of a district leader is to go on tradeoffs right? And they're supposed to do the tradeoffs throughout the transfers right? Well, I, per usual, completely procrastinated the tradeoffs until about a week ago, and realized that I would need to do all the tradeoffs this week in order to get them done in time. So that I did. 4 tradeoffs in a row, from tuesday to friday. And I believe it is safe to say that I am absolutely drained haha, tradeoffs always take it out of me. But the tradeoffs were really fun, I love getting to spend time with and minister to all the beast elders I get to serve with. So we stayed really busy, got some work done, and had some cool tradeoff miracles. One tradeoff we even found like 9 people in one day! (Story to come next paragraph). But those were really fun. So yeah. But I'm going to try not to procrastinate them till the last week again.
By way of teaching, things have been going really good. And we had some pretty special experiences this week, mostly revolving around Andria. Andria is doing absolutely amazing, just her normal amazing self. This week we were meeting with her a lot, getting her pumped to read the scriptures, and in return, she's just been so pumped to give out these scriptures. I swear, she's probably given out more copies of the Book of Mormon than I have my entire mission. She's built different. But this week we had a cool experience with her and us trying to teach her granddaughter. So on Friday, Andria told us that her granddaughter was coming over to help her around her house, and Andria wanted us to "coincidentally" show up around the same time to do scripture studies with her, and then she would rope her granddaugher into them. So we planned a bomb lesson on the tree of life, went to Andria's to go convert her granddaughter, and...    she was a no show. We were pretty disappointed. But Andria wanted us to teach her, so hopefully she could teach her granddaughter another time. So we started the study. A few minutes later, we hear a knock at the door. Lo and behold, Rhonda, her caretaker, had just gotten out of the hospital and was coming over to Andria's to relax (and probably feel the spirit a little bit). So we pulled up our powerful lesson and just let it fly. To make a long story short, we testified of the Book of Mormon, got Rhonda hyped to read it, and even set up a time to go clean up her yard because she needed help after the hospital experience. Later that day, we went to go help her out, and she brought up our studies with Andria, and just ranted about how much she loves the Book of Mormon. She told us that her, her daughters, and her grandchildren all wanted to do bible studies with us, and maybe even come to church. There were at least like 9 people in that house, but I think more. So that was a miracle. We had been struggling on finding people and finding miracles, but as we stayed dilligent in working hard and doing everything in our power, boy oh boy did God deliver. As He always does.
Now I have one more, slightly embarassing, yet enlightening story that I want to share. So one day this week, we were at Andria's, when we got a knock at the door. A neighbor needed a jump to get her car started. So we were heading over there, and Andria told us to give her a Book of Mormon once we were done. We jumped her car, but I am completely embarassed to say, that the gospel never came up, a Book of Mormon was never given awayz and the responsibility of that falls wholely anf completely on my shoulders. I was just a chicken. We drove away, went back to Andria's, and honestly it didn't feel too good telling Andria that I had chickened out. We started discussing being a missionary, and giving away copies of the Book of Mormon, and my eyes were kind of opened on a couple things. First off, we talked about how amazing this book is, the literal miracles and feelings of pure joy that it brings. Isn't it pretty selfish to not share that with others? And then if we're scared because we don't know what to say, can't this book speak for itself? They may go and set it on the shelf somewhere, but God will work on them, inspiring them to pick it up and read. All we have to do is be the mediary to the miracle, give God an opportunity to inspire them. I was too focused on myself, on my own fears, and completely forgot about the amazing gift that I have in this church, this gospel, this book. And so I made a solemn pinkie promise with Andria, that I would never let this opportunity to bear my testimony or give a Book of Mormon away pass without doing something. Without putting God in the position to work a miracle. And when I see that lady again, I will be giving her a Book of Mormon, no matter the situation, no matter what I have to do. And I want to challenge y'all the exact same thing. Give a Book of Mormon away this week. It doesn't matter if it's scary, it doesn't matter if you don't know what to say, because who's on your side? God. And who's in that book? Jesus Christ. So why would we keep that to ourselves? Free is free, and anyone will take a free book. It won't destroy a friendship, and it won't be the end of the world. It might be the start of a new world, a better world for that person who receives this amazing book. So go and do, go work some amazing miracles this week.
Well that's about all I have for this week, I'm extremely proud of those who have made it this far in my lengthy email this week. We'll be getting transfer news this week, and I could possibly be staying in this area going on 8 months depending on how that call goes. So let the Lord direct my paths, I love this area and I love everything I've been able to do and learn on my mission. Most importantly, I love Jesus, and I know Him and I both love y'all so very much. Have an amazing week!!

Spiritual Thought:

Alma 37:44-45
44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.
45 And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.
