Tallahassee Transfer 7 Week 5
Gooood afternoon, how are y'all doing this fine day?? The birds are chirping, the weather is absolutely perfect, and it's been a pretty darn good week down here in good ole Tallahassee. I cannot wait to tell y'all all about it.
By eay of teaching, things are still just chugging along. We're still working with Andria, just slowly and steadily helping her beat her demons. She's still struggling a lot, but she's made too big of an impact on my life for us to give up on her! So we just keep on pushing along. But if I could ask of it to y'all, PLEASE keep her in your prayers. She's fighting through so much, and I can testify that prayers literally work miracles. So let's work a miracle for Andria thia week! So that's about it on Andria. We also talked a lot to our girl Shirley, a newer friend that wants to come closer to Christ. We've been having bible studies with her, but this week we decided to drop the hammer-- we taught her the restoration of the gospel. She did have a few concerns, but we were able to answer her questions using the scriptures, and she was in love with what we taught her! So that was cool to see. I just love seeing the light that comes into peoples lives, when their faces light up and the spirit testifies to them of the truthfulness and power of the message that us missionaries share. Such a special opportunity. So if any of y'all are thinking about going on a mission, just do it. It's so worth it. And God wouldn't want anything different for you, because of the joy that you will bring into others lives. He loves when we love His children.
We also got to do some fun service this week. Our good ole cowboy grandpa, Bro Clayton, asked if we could come do more service for him. Now this is the guy that had us burn the 60 acres of pine trees for him, so we knew this service was going to be legendary. And it was. We went over, and laid down some pipes and some irrigation lines so that he can start the first bamboo garden in Gadsden County. So that was really cool.
After we helped out with the service, we went back to his house, and turns out he has a new lady friend. Now Bro Clayton is a wizard on the dating apps, always setting up stuff looking for a new wife. So that's how he found this new lady, Janet, but these two are like two peas in a pod. They're gonna get hitched we hope, but anyways turns out she is looking for God's plan for her, and wanted to talk to us missionaries. So we taught her the Restoration, which she loved, and then she told us that she wanted to come to church on Sunday. They came, she loved it, then we went back to her house, taught her about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and then put her on Baptismal Date. She's an absolute angel, so prepared and open to feeling the spirit. Plus she's a good cook which is sweet. So elder Jacksom and I fully endorse that marriage between our cowboy and his angel.
We also got to go to a little musical that our mission put on in Tallahassee. It was about the Restoration of the Gospel, and displayed through singing and playing instruments. Now as mt family knows, I'm not one for musicals or all that sappy stuff. But this was probably one of THE most powerful musicals I have ever been to. We invited Andria, and the whole time she was crying and praising God and just really enjoying herself. And then we ended by reading the Restoration Proclamation that the Quorum of the 12 Apostles released a year or two ago. It was amazing. And it further strengthened my testimony that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father really did appear to Joseph Smith in a Grove of trees in 1820. That they really did work through a weak and simple thing, a 14 year old boy to bring to pass the fulness of the Gospel. Because that's just how God works. And the church that I represent, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is the one true church, the same church that Jesus established when He was on the earth. I know it to be true. And I feel it to be true.
Other than that not much has gone on. We did spend two days moving out of our apartment because a Senior Couple wanted to move into it. So we got kicked out, and had to move all our stuff ALL THE WAY across the street to another apartment in the complex. Probably about 20 feet away. But it took a good minute to move it all. And I know the neighbors were cracking up at watching us, we were carrying all of our furniture up two flights of stairs, balancing them over a 10 foot drop trying to get them in the door. We got it all done though. So for all of you who want to send me some nice packages or letters, the new address is 770 Appleyard Drive 1F, Tallahassee FL 32304. Thank you in advance.
But that's about all that I have. I'm grateful for everything I'm learning. And I'm glad for how much I get to grow week to week. Next letter I might be heading to a new state, we'll be getting transfer calls so who knows. But love y'all so much, and keep being awesome. Jesus loves you too!!
