Tallahassee Transfer 5 Week 1
Heyyy what is up everyone?? I hope y'all have been having the best week of your life thus far. This week was pretty great for us, super exciting and lots of work went down. Elder Colton and I are still together for another transfer in Tally/Quincy which is pretty exciting.
First off let's talk about teaching. This week was really slow by way of getting in contact with people or finding new people. We went through and dropped a huge chunk of our teaching pool. We also unfortunately had a good amount of our main investigators stop responding or drop us as well so it's pretty small right now. It was a little scary doing this, but honestly I'm glad we did. God works miracles depending on the amount of faith that we show to Him, and how much we let Him lead us. So that is kind of why we dropped all these people. It's been kind of slow finding new people, and unfortunately thus far we haven't had a lot of luck. But we've been sending out service referrals, free bible ads, Facebook friend requests, and lots of prayers. And any day now, I know we are just going to start popping off in this area. So exciting things are coming. God is going to come take over, and bless us with some people who are willing to let Him prevail in their lives and I can't wait to be a part of that when it happens.
We did get the opportunity to do a lot of service this week as well. Like on Saturday for example, we got to have basically a service day, and we went from service activity to service activity just doing the Lord's work. Serving people is so great. We went and handed out hundreds of boxes of food at this church. We also got to help a lady paint her house. We also got to help a lady with her yard. So we've been staying busy in the service department which is always fun.
Other than that this week has just been a lot of praying and studying the scriptures trying to find answers to questions that I've had. And let me tell you, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and the prophets, are inspired. I know without a doubt, that these are the literal words of God. And I've been so grateful to learn from them and receive so much help. There has been so many times where I have a burning question or a struggle, and I open up to a random page in the Book of Mormon and start reading. Somehow, without fail, there will be a verse on that page that seems to be written specifically for me, and specifically for my question. Time after time this same thing happens, without fail. So if you are struggling, if you have a question, I invite you to go get a Book of Mormon. Set it in front of you. Say a prayer, asking God to answer your question, then open the book to a random page with the faith that God will answer you. I can promise you, that if you do this, with faith, with a real intent, then God will answer your question, whatever it may be. He did it for Joseph Smith, He does it for me, and He will do it for you too.
That's about all I have for this week, hope y'all have an amazing week! Love y'all and just remember that y'all are awesome.
Elder Richardson
Scripture: Moroni 10:4-54 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things
Think about the power of this promise. All we need is to put in faith, a real intent, and ask God with a sincere heart, and we can know the truth of ALL THINGS!!
