Dunn Ave Transfer 3 Week 5
Hola mi familia y amigos!
How is everyone doing? How is the start to everyones new year? Everything has been going good for us. This transfer is flying by, its crazy that we are almost done with another one. This Saturday we should get calls to see if I get transferred or not so thats exciting. I'm hoping I stay in this area but we'll see. Wherever the Lord needs me to go.
This week was definitely an upgrade. We had some cooler experiences and stayed really busy. At the beginning of theweek we finally got out of quarantine, so we've been going kind of ham on the work. We had a bunch of people that we haven't seen in a while so we basically just drove around and visited them. Unfortunately we did have to drop a lot of people but now we have more time to visit people who are more willing to let God prevail in their life. So in a way its a big blessing. Something that I've really learned thus far is the power of faith. Way too often, I think we try to be the hero in our different experiences and trials. But when we show our humility and our faith, and let God work His magic, that's when we see the miracles. So thats something that we are really trying to do. Show the faith, and we know that God will bless us with people who need our message.
This week we were able to talk to our boy Curtis quite a bit. He's a really good guy, who has struggled with some addictions and trials in the past. He's getting over them and he just has a really big desire to change. So we have daily bible studies with him and talk a lot about the magnifying power that Christ brings into our life. We've been studying a bunch of different stories, but I've really come to love one person in particular, and that's Peter. Of course when we think of Peter we think of the Rock, of the devoted, powerful disciple. But he had a rocky past as well. And thats what is so great about him. It didn't matter what he had done in the past. It didn't matter what decisions he made. In John 18, Peter literally denies being a follower of the savior. He commits one of the worst sins possible. That's probably as low as someone can get. But then, not 5 chapters later in the Bible, Peter is transformed into this disciple who's shadow passing over someone has the power to heal them. Peter is totally changed from this prideful, fearful boy, into this faithful, powerful man. And I think that same change can happen in our lives as well. All we have to do, is accept Christ's transforming Grace, leave our own symbolic nets behind, and follow Him with all of our heart. And thats why Peter is one of my favorite people in the Bible. Because he is a perfect example of what God can do with me, and with each one of you. So if you find yourself struggling, or if you're lost, this story shows us exactly where to look.
Other than that our week didn't have much to talk about. Just a lot of visiting people, a little bit of service at Celestial Farms, and we attended a baptism for a man being baptized by the other Elders. So its been a pretty good week. Thats about all I got, so y'all keep killing it wherever you are, and feel free to send me an email. Have a good week, love y'all!
