Hola mi Familia y Amigos!!
How are yall? And I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas. We sure did down here in Florida. It definitely was weird and a little sad being away from family for this Christmas, but it was awesome being able to focus less on myself and more on others.
But to start out, this week was actually really good. We were able to stay pretty busy, teaching a few lessons and getting into homes that we haven't been able to get into for a while. We also were able to have another lesson with Tabitha. And oh my did it go good. This was probably one of the most spiritual lessons I've had on my mission, and everything went super good. And I kid you not, she is the most golden person to ever walk this planet. Basically when we went over there to teach her, she had already gained a testimony of basically everything before we even told her about it. She had heard a little bit about the restoration of our church so she researched about it and prayed about it and already knew that it was true. So after this amazing lesson, we felt prompted to extend a baptismal invitation. And she accepted! So we're super excited for her, the Lord has some major plans in store for Tabitha. That's something that I've really come to recognize while being out on the mission. I didn't realize this as much before, but its insane just how personal God is in our lives. He really does have a specific plan for each one of us, and He knows us so and loves us so perfectly. Hes blessed us with opportunities, blessings, and trials, all to help us become a better, more polished version of ourselves. And all we have to do to become this version is simply follow His will and His plan over our own. So if you guys are looking for purpose in your life, and if you want to know God's plan for you, read 2 Nephi 2 in the Book of Mormon. This chapter always helps me find peace and guidance during crazy times.
We also were able to have a pretty amazing Christmas. For Christmas Eve we went over to a families house for dinner. We ate some Shepherds pie, then had a snowball fight with some fake snowballs. And then for Christmas, we were able to go drop off some gifts to some of our investigators who were going to be pretty lonely on Christmas. And honestly this was probably my favorite part about Christmas day. It was special just being able to bring some people a little bit of joy and hope that they normally don't have on Christmas. I realized that this is exactly what the Savior would do on Christmas, and so it was a cool opportunity. After that we talked to our families which was really nice, opened some gifts, and then went over to the house of a super cool lady in our ward named Sister Seymour. We had some lunch there, hung out with them, then ended the day playing some b-ball with the other elders in our ward. So it was a pretty good Christmas.
And now for the big news. So Elder Arp had been feeling sick a little bit this week, and then towards the end of the week he started losing his sense of taste and smell. So we decided that it was smart to go get tested for Covid. Sure enough, we both tested positive. We're all feeling pretty good, it hasn't been too bad. I was feeling trashy a few days ago but now we're starting to get over it so everythings good. But we do have to quarantine for the next little while so that's exciting! It'll be good though, now we can contact a lot of people who haven't been contacted for a little while.
But thats about all the news I have this week. I hope everyone is doing good, and have a happy New Years. Love y'all!

Spiritual Thought- 2 Nephi 2
6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
This is just one of my favorite scriptures out of 2 Nephi 2. It really just shows us the reason for Christ. We all make mistakes, we all will mess up from time to time. So what an amazing gift from our Father in Heaven in giving us a Savior! Because through Jesus Christ, we do have hope. And our mistakes can be fixed, and our messed can be cleaned up. Pretty amazing to think about.
