Hola Familia y Amigos!!
How is everyone? Things are really good here in Florida. And guess who is our of quarantine, finally haha. But everything is going really well. Usually my P-day is Monday, but a sister in the ward needed our help moving her out of her house so we switched our P-day. Hence the title of my letter haha.
A lot went on this week after we got out of our apartment on Thursday. We had contacted a ton of people while in quarantine, so it was nice to come out of quarantine and immediately be able to have lessons and be busy. We visited a ton of people in the last couple days and had a good amount of lessons. Being a missionary is just such a special thing. I don't think I've ever felt happier than when I'm focusing on and serving others rather than myself. And to bring them closer to Jesus Christ as well, thats just a blessing on top of that. So it was really cool to have all these lessons and cool experiences. Other than that our days were pretty normal, just the normal contacting people and trying to serve.
Halloween this year wasn't anything crazy special, but we did get to celebrate it a little bit. We had a ward trunk or treat on Friday that was pretty fun. Our ward isn't super big but there was a pretty good turnout. There was also a chili cook-off between the ward so we got to eat some pretty good food which is always a plus haha. Also on Saturday one of the members in our ward Sister Deese, had us over to carve pumpkins and eat some good Mexican food. The ward members here are pretty awesome.
On Monday we helped a lady move out of her apartment, and she's moving back to Idaho. She just had a ton of boxes to move out of her apartment and into a U-haul, so we got to play a little bit of tetris trying to fit it all into the uhaul. Im happy to say that we did get it all packed, and she is on her way back to the holy land.
Scripture: Mosiah 2:17- And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
Being on a mission has really opened my eyes to see the great blessings that come from focusing less on onesself and more on others. I believe God only wants each one of His children to be happy, so if we help Him out with this, we'll be so blessed. All we have to do is forget about ourselves and just love others. Missionary work really has brought me so much happiness!
Well thats all I got for this week, hope you all have awesome weeks! Send me an email, I'd love to hear from you all!!
Love you all,
Elder Richardson
