Dunn Ave Transfer 1 Week 4: "In His strength I can do All Things"
Hola mi familia y amigos!
How is everyone? Things are still good in Jacksonville, I feel like every email of mine starts about the same haha. But if its not broke don't fix it I guess. This week was actually a really good week.
Not a ton of crazy exciting stuff happened this week. At the beginning of the week however we did have Zone Conference which was amazing! Zone Conference for anyone who isn't familiar with the Mish lingo is a big meeting with all the missionaries in a certain area. So on Wednesday we got together with all the missionaries in our zone, (like 46+), and had some amazing lessons from our mission president and some of the other mission leaders. It was way fun and also answered a lot of questions that I had.
This week was a little slow at times because a lot of our investigators fell through which was a little disappointing. But something that I've really seen the past couple weeks is that the Lord is so aware in the tiniest details of our lives. I really got to see this with a man named Nathaniel. Nathaniels an awesome guy, but he's had a lot of trouble with health issues so he's in and out of the hospital all the time. We usually have a way hard time getting in contact with him. One day we were trying to get in contact with people so we drove around to like 10 investigators houses. Somehow all 10 weren't able to answer the door. So we got through our list, and had a prompting to go stop by Nathaniels. We pulled up to his apartment and knocked on his door. He was amazed that we caught him home, because he had just gotten home from the hospital and was going to leave to go back the next day. We ended up talking about Joseph Smith and the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ, which he absolutely loved! He kept telling us over and over again just how special we make him feel, and how every time we walk in the room its like a wave of warmth comes with us. That was a pretty cool thing to hear. He was so excited about what we talked about that he was asking us if he could come to church with us.
This was a pretty big tender mercy for me, and really just shows me the love that God has for each and every one of us. He is SO AWARE of our unique challenges, and is helping us so much. We just need to look for His hand. This type of thing, these small miracles happened time and time again this week, and I wish I had the time to write all of them. But I just think its so cool to see these "coincidences" happening over and over again. It definitely isnt a coincidence to me anymore. I'm so grateful for the chance to serve a mission, and help others see God's hand in the same way, in the same strength that I've felt it. The Church is true everyone!!
Spiritual Thought: Alma 26:12
Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
This scripture is one of my favorites, and pretty self-explanatory. I've just really seen this recently. The power of God, the love of God is so great. More powerful than anything we can even imagine on our own. So why would we want to do anything without God's help??
Well thats all I got this week, sorry for the long email haha but gotta bear my testimony a little bit I guess. But send me an email, its definitely really good to hear from y'all!
Love y'all! Have a good week!
