Hola Familia y Amigos!
How has everyone's week been? How was conference for everybody? My week has actually turned out really good. Not a ton of super eventful stuff happened this week, just a lot of the usual missionary stuff, but its cool to look back and see God's hand in our lives even if it's hard to see at times.
This week was pretty hard to get in contact with a lot of people, so we didn't get to teach a lot of lessons. A lot of people just wouldn't answer our calls or texts, or would blow us off. Kind of frustrating, but it's cool to see just how the Lord provides for each one of us in our unique situations. Because we weren't crazy busy, we were able to meet with a lady named Sheryl who was pretty special. She was hard to get in contact with until this week and her schedule wasn't way open but because we were free we could meet with her. It was such an awesome lesson. When we showed up she told us that she wanted to learn everything about the Bible and grow her relationship with God. We talked to her a little bit and read some stories out of the bible and she absolutely loved it. She told us that there was something special about us missionaries and she wanted to meet with us every day to learn more. Then her husband who was sitting there opened up and told us that he had been distant with God ever since his mom died, but he felt like God had sent us to him so he wanted to fix his relationship with God and meet with us too. The spirit was crazy strong probably one of the strongest I've ever felt it. I could just feel God's love for these people. They told us they'd watch conference and go to church so we were pretty excited! He really does work in mysterious ways, but the things that He brings to pass are so miraculous!
I don't know who got to watch General conference, but it definitely was the highlight of my week for sure. If you missed it, definitely go back and give it a watch. Its so special to receive guidance and peace even during this crazy time. One of my favorite talks was definitely Elder Andersens where he talked about being representatives of Christ. This world is so crazy, getting darker and darker because they're forgetting the light of the world, Jesus Christ. One of the phrases that stuck out to me the most was,
"If the world is going to speak less of Him, who is going to speak more of Him? We are! True examples of Jesus Christ are willing to stand up, stand out and be a difference in this world."
After hearing that, it got me pretty motivated to be that light, that example in this ever-dimming world. People need this. I want you guys to think about that, and hopefully try to relate it to yourselves. This world needs a little more Jesus! And all it takes is being a little kinder, a little more loving, just trying to act how Christ would. And what we will receive in return, is so much more than the effort we will put out!
Well thats all I got for this week, have a great week everyone!!
