Jacksonville Florida Week 1

Hola Familia y Amigos!!

How is everyone? Things are really good over here. This'll be my first email I've sent from Jacksonville Florida, pretty crazy. I'll give you a quick rundown of what's happened the last week and a half.
So I finished up my MTC stuff on Monday, then spent the last normal night for two years with my family. Definitely glad I was able to do that, they're awesome. So after my last night at home I woke up at 5 in the morning, said goodbye, then I was off. I flew to Dallas, then got on a plane to Jacksonville. After I got to the airport they picked all the missionaries coming in up, like 20 of us, then took us to different places to stay the night. In the morning we came back to this church building where they gave us a little intro, then assigned us our companions and our areas. I was assigned to Elder McDaniel, an absolute stud, and then got assigned to the Jacksonville East area, pretty much just in downtown Jacksonville. Our apartment is pretty nice, I've heard it's one of the nicest in the mission which is pretty cool, definitely lucked out.
Florida's been pretty awesome already. The weather's pretty insane, it'll go from being toasty outside where you walk out the door and get hit by a heatwave, to crazy rainy, and then back to being hot again within like an hour. It's pretty nice though, it hasn't been too hot and the weather feels pretty good. The people here are awesome too. Everyone loves Jesus, and everyone knows the bible really well. It's kind of funny to talk to them because they love going off on super long rants about how much they love Jesus, and I say amen brothers and sisters to that. Everyone says y'all, ma'am and sir down here which is cool, and a lot of these people have pretty thick southern accents which sound awesome. The area that we live in is pretty low income, but the people are so amazing. Everyone is so nice and loving which is really cool to see.
The missions been really good actually. Our day is mostly made up of visiting investigators, helping out ward members, doing service and calling and texting potential investigators. It's all been super cool. Right now our area is going insane, we're teaching a ton of members because we keep getting tons of referrals so that's pretty cool! The work keeps on moving forward! We're crazy busy right now which is really cool, not a lot of spare time to do anything else other than serve the Lord which is how it should be! We're also doing a lot of finding on facebook, that's what most of our people have come from. No door to door contacting right now because of coronavirus, but honestly the facebook is pretty nice. Cool how many people we're able to reach with this amazing message.
We've definitely had a fair share of miracles this week which has been pretty cool. One of the biggest that we had was with a guy named Chris. He contacted us saying that he needed his lawn mowed, so we got on the job. We looked everywhere trying to find a lawnmower, but had no luck. Then last moment we found a pretty run down one, shoved it in the back of our car, and went to this guy's house. We pulled up to his house and his grass was probably about 3 feet tall. We talked to him for a little bit and he just told us that he had been praying and praying for help with his grass because he didn't have a lawnmower to cut it himself. He told us that if it got too high then he would have gotten fined, and he probably didn't have the money to pay that. So it was a miracle to him to find us on facebook offering help. So we mowed his lawn which was pretty tough with our rundown lawn mower, but somehow we got it done haha. After that we talked to him for a little bit and told him about missionaries, showed him a video, then gave him a Book of Mormon. Him and his wife were so excited about this, they told us that they had been looking for more truth in their life and they accepted the Book. It was a pretty awesome feeling.
Pretty cool to see the hand of the Lord so personally in our life. It really just shows how much he wants to bless us and love us. And how much he's in the small details of our lives. Whether we're struggling with something big, or if we only need someone to mow our lawn, He'll be there for us. Because his love is that great, and he cares about us that much.
Scripture: 3 Nephi 10:6
O ye house of Israel whom I have spared, how oft will I gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if ye will repent and return unto me with full purpose of heart.

Well thats all I got, sorry for the long email haha! Love you all!!
