How's it going? It was another super quick and super wild week with tons of fun experiences! I got the chance to go on an exchange with Elder Taylor and see how he is doing. He is such a fun Elder and has such a really cool demeanor. We made some calls and had a really cool Family Home Evening with the family that lives next door to them, and man could we all feel the power of it. I love getting to work with members and see the joy that they show.
We had Zone Conference this week and it was so much stinkin' fun to see everyone again. I got to see so many old faces and so many people that I love so much. I got to see my 'son' Elder Martinez!! Man was that fun to chat and catch back up!
A lot has happened since I left Mexico the first time. There's something about seeing old friends again that is so awesome! They talked a ton about how every commandment and law is spiritual. Everything we obey or disobey is either helping us grow closer or distancing us from our Heavenly Father. Looking at life with those eyes really does change things and helps me try to be a little better each day with the little things. We had our meeting with the stake presidency and the ward leaders to get things rolling with the work here in Angelopolis and we are making progress. Presidente Linares is really helping us a ton to gain some trust again from some of the unfortunate events that have happened long ago. One day at a time... He pulled the trump card on the rules and invited us to go eat dinner on Wed (can't meet in members homes unless I guess it's the stake president:))with his fam to get to know them and to figure out how to keep the momentum moving forward. No lie I am pretty stoked about that!!
Yolanda Cabrera is an angel! She asked us this week to be baptized and said that she wants to follow Christ to set an example for her family and continue to feel the joy and peace she has right now. She is amazing and makes me smile everytime we get to meet with her. Fabiola snuck out of the house to visit with us. She is so ready to take the next step and honestly has a twinkle in her eyes now. We all fasted together to soften her husband's heart and for him to let her meet with us and to be baptized. It is so powerful when she bears testimony and says that "I love how I feel in this gospel and I finally have a purpose in my life. I know what I am living for now". Keep her and her husband in your prayers please!!
I know I am just blabbing but wanted to share a quick thought from what I learned this week. Discipleship means that we are willing to swim upstream if that is what the Lord needs us to do. Life is really hard and we have to do really hard things, but like the promise in D&C 123:17, when we do all that we can we can have confidence and peace in knowing the Lord will reveal His hand for us. We are never alone in our trials and we can have some of the best experiences and spiritual changes when we are in our hardest struggles of life. God is always with you and as we do our part to the best of our ability, we will be able to bless the lives of so many other people! I love yall so much and hope yall are doing great!!
