IHOP and Transfers...
It was a super great week for us here in Odessa! Every day was jam packed and full of spiritually powerful events! We got the transfer calls last night and I will be staying in Odessa and getting Elder Hansen. Elder Harward is leaving me:( and he is going to Reagal Park in Lubbock. He is an amazing Elder who has impacted the rest of my life!!
We went on exchanges this week with the 2nd trio (Elder Simmons, Hill, and Garvey). I went with Elder Garvey to their area and it was awesome. We taught a recent convert named Landon and it was so powerful to hear him bear testimony!! We woke up at 5 to go run at the UTPB college with the other Elders and we got IHOP after. It was so much fun! Something I will never forget!
It will be sad to see Elder Garvey head home on Thursday. He is an amazing Elder and I hope things go well for him back home.
Aside from the exchange, we did a ton of service with this man names Justin Sanchez. He is super open to talking about God and thats all we did while we were putting felt and siding on the side of his house. It was a brutal job but we got just over 1/4 of the house done in 2 days. We ate some really good lunch both days from some authentic mexican restaurants. It was amazing!!
We taught tons of lessons this week to members and I loved that. It is so powerful to hear all of their testimonies and the spirit that dwells in their homes. That's what I aspire to have!
We had an amazing lesson with Mayra. She is battling addictions and mental illness and she is tougher than rocks. She opened up and we all talked about our challenges and how we have overcome them through the gospel. She said she knows it is true!! I sure love her and I think we made some progress to her heart and helped her see the good in the world. One of the most powerful lessons I have been a part of. It was amazing to have scriptures and experiences come to mind that were just what she needed!
Besides that, we are doing super good! No complaints and just doing my best to work hard and see the bigger picture. My testimony was added to on the Restoration to have so many more confirmations that it did truly take place. God is good. Love yall
