REASSIGNED TO LUBBOCK, TX MISSION! Alienssss in Roswell, NM!
I'm BACK!! This week has been so great! I am in the Lubbock, Texas mission but I am serving in Roswell, New Mexico (the alien town) and I am thrilled to be here opening up an area with Elder Mismash! This place is amazing and filled with so many wonderful people. I've already had three best chili's of my life, seen some big antelope bucks, and tried to figure out how to work a facebook account. I am in a great district of great Elders and we get along super well. I love this mission already and am so grateful to be here. We have had tons of service opportunities so its been great to get my boots out and go to work!! That's right, I'm already rockin those puppies.
We taught Pattie who has been being taught for a year and it was amazing. She opened up to us and has such a great heart. She has had a rough rough life but now has seen how the Lord has played a role in her life and put missionaries in her life. We are helping her quit smoking and helping Ed, her husband, return to the church. Such great people!! We felt the spirit super strong and put a baptismal date for her on the 29th of August! She will be able to stop smoking and be ready by then I have no doubt!
As for service this week we helped Bro Barnes tear his huge shed down and that was awesome. We also got to help Vincent around his house. He's got one leg so it was dope to see him on a ladder with a chain saw (pics to come). But, I am super happy out here and couldn't be more thrilled for the opportunity to serve here. It is just for me!!
Quick thought, in my studies this week I learned a ton. Mainly I was focusing on the character of Christ and this quote stuck out to me. "Our faith must be focused on the Saviors character, otherwise it is not faith". Such a great truth that our faith must depend on what the Savior did for us and how he acted so that we can have the ability to become like him!! Love yall and hope everything is great!!!
